Hi ladies. Now that the holidays are over I’m sure everyone is exhausted but glad 2018 is here. Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Having my first scans on Friday (well at least I hope since Boston is getting 1 foot or more of snow tomorrow). Little nervous but pain is good so I’m hoping scans are good. How is everyone doing?😘😘😘

All the best. Im kind of in a winter funk.
Hi Partia
I was really upbeat for the holidays. Had friends over for tree trimming. Husband and I took large group of friends and family out for Christmas Hanukkah dinner and back to my place for holiday merriment and dessert. Had a week off from work—Woohoo! And then a few days ago bam. Started feeling blue. Came across some not so encouraging “cancer stories” and a work friend passed from lung cancer. I try to have gratitude for each day and for everyone in my life but sometimes this retched disease seems too much to handle. Work helps because I can’t just sit and think and brood. I take my antidepressant, which levels me off some. My husband is so good but only those who are on this walk know how I really feel. Is there something you can enjoy planning like a vacation? Is there an upbeat friend you can share a meal with? Yoga? Meditation? Tara Burch has some great meditations. By now a lot of people know I’m a Kris’s Carr groupie. She has a stage IV cancer and there’s lots of good stuff on her website and she is very upbeat and positive. Winter and cancer are a lousy combination especially if you are stuck at home. I’m off from work today because of snow and I’m going to use some of this time to catch up with reading and meditation and maybe start journaling. I hope you find something to do that will help you shake the blues. It can be overwhelming and it definitely more than we can handle alone. 💕
HI Marianne - doing good still. I feel really good. I just finished my 4th cycle of Ibrance and Letrozole. Still no hair loss. YEAH!! Have scans the end of the month and am praying for good results. Same for you.
Hi Marianne, I hope you receive good news on your scans tomorrow.
Tomorrow, I'll be getting the biopsy of my 2 solid liver tumors tomorrow. They didn't tell me if it will be done with a fine needle or core needle. Also, the doctor will use guided Ultrasound rather than the CT guided procedure. They'll give me something to sleep through it, I thank God for that!
I feel very blessed that I was able to be at home for Christmas with my family and not in the hospital. At the time, I was looking at surgery to resect one & receive radioembolization on the other. We cancelled that, because we needed to have the biopsy first.
Our family had been fighting off a sinus infection. A guest was also sick and (we think) shared it with all of us. The my husband, who had pretty much recovered previously, became very sick, got diagnosed with a sinus infection. So far, I'm dealing with what appears to be a head cold, no fever, so it's still a go for the biopsy. I'm so thankful to have all the options with which to fight this, whatever it is. So many in other countries and circumstances don't.
They, and all of our warrior sisters and brothers have my prayers.
Kate
Am doing pretty good, having a pet scan done this Tuesday.
