Xeloda and lepatinib

Cherylthepurplelady profile image

Hi everyone. My liver is now chirrotic from liver Mets and years of chemo, and my abdomen has filled with fluid which happens to contain cancer cells that match my MBC. Any information on your experience with either Xeloda or lepatinib would be appreciated.

Hi , I was on xeloda 6 months, first scan showed cancer cells less active , but the second scan showed more cancer cells. My oncologist decided to change my treatment.

Side effects: very sore feet and hands, sore nails , tiredness ..... but after 4 months side effects settled ( reduced dose and switched on 1 week on 1 week off )

Recommendation: to apply propolis creame for the beginning, nothing else worked for me .

Apparently people are on xeloda for years , unfortunately for me it stopped working .

Hope this helped :)

Is propolis cream OTC or prescription-I never heard of it.

It is a cream made from honey , my mom sent it to me from Czech Republic .I have just checked and you can purchase it on amazon as well . If you purchase it please try to buy a pure propolis cream , it does not smell nice but it surely works :)

I remember my feet used to burn when I was walking. I spent entire summer in fluffy slippers :) . One point I even had my feet covered in blisters . But it’s manageable, once you finish your cycle , it will settle down.

If you get above symptoms I would also recommended fluffy slippers / shoes , will make it easier to walk :) .... Also it’s fashionable:)))

You don’t have to have above symptoms at all

I was on Xeloda for almost a year 2 weeks on and one off on 2000mg a day. It worked well for the first 9 months then my numbers went up and the liver met grew so changed meds. I used lanolin (milking salve!) on hands and feet every morning and evening and apart from some roughness and flaking along my forefingers and thumbs had no discomfort really - and I love gardening so spend a fair amount of time with hands in soil! Otherwise I tolerated it well - no other side effects at all so was devastated when it stopped working.

Good luck
