I am mid-way into my fourth month of Ibrance. I haven't lost or had hair thinning. I am wondering if it would be ok to get a perm or hair color?

Hi Hannah. I'm Jana. I have been on Ibrance for 8 months and am loving life. No side effects...including no hair loss. I perm and color...no problems...at least none so far! Go for it! All the best!
Hi Hannah! I am 6 months into Ibrance. I have had some hair thinning. Luckily I go to the best stylist ever who is able to cover it up. I asked my Oncologist in the beginning about hair color and she said it was ok. I have been coloring right along!

Hi, I've been on hormonal treatment for almost 13 1/2 years, non stop. I've not lost my hair but for the first ten years or so the woman who cuts and colors my hair, Deb, kept telling me it had gotten thicker! Go figure. It also went from slightly wavy to slightly curly. I was on Faslodex and Ibrance for 9 or 10 cycles in 2016 and my hair did thin though not enough that the Deb or anyone other than me noticed it. I think it has started taking color a bit differently, perhaps gradually and maybe not related to Ibrance. I cannot seem to escape a brassy tone which I really don't care for. I'm thinking of trying to find some old fashioned "bluing" to see if that will get it back to the neutral brown I want. In my quest for a neutral brown, I idid discover that a L'oreal spray for covering roots that are growing out, in a brown shade, is just what I want. That's fine for a day of looking like I want, but not a permanent fix! If I were in your shoes, I would probably want to start with a good hair coloring professional, at least for the first coloring and for a perm. I also sseem to remember that when having both color and perm, there is a specific order of doing them that makes for a better result, with a bit of time between, maybe something like 2 or 4 weeks Your hair person should know how to do that part! Good luck and I sure hope you find soemthing that you are really happy with!
I am in my third year of Ibrance. I cut and color every six weeks. The letrozole is the hair thinner as it strips your hormones. My hair is thinner but it looks great still . I take biotin and fish oil. My big issue is nail breakage. They were hurting and cutting me. ( Nothing heals as fast as it did).
Dang. I didn't realize the Femara was a hair culprit. I'm taking a hair & nail supplement. My nails are doing great. They were horrific! They turned black and grey and broke or fell off. I finally had tips put on them when I had enough nail to do so and I do the dip nails instead of acrylic. They've grown back better than ever. Now the toenails are taking their time and still look crummy.
