Whst could cause this heart sttavk.

I had cancer surgery in 2013. While i was still in the VA hospital, on the third night. I was sitting up and felt strange. Started throwing up bile. After they cleaned me up, they came in said that my heart had stopped several times. A heart surgeon came, wheeled me into a room.covered me up with this plastic sheet. They numbed the left side of my chest, and placed a pace maker. Never found what kind of heart problem it was. Was off the coast of Viet Nam in 1967. The VA is recognising a heart disease called Ischemic heart disease could be cause of this heart problem. But i sure be interested to find some information.
