How I reduced my RLS symptoms to Zero.

I have got my RLS completely under control and write this because I understand the pain and suffering. I empathize and I hope I can help.

I STOPPED my rls not eating SUGAR. With in the first week my rls went down by 50%. Buy then end of the month down to ZERO! When I eat sugar it starts back up again, but all I have to do is this protocol-

NO SUGAR -

this is key and most important. And I mean no bread, no lfruit, honey, cane sugar, bread, cheese) only monk fruit. Wait a week at least and have blueberries or strawberries but no high sugar fruit.

-ONLY MONK FRUIT powder with NO ERYTHITOL (bad sugar alcohol).

-Mostly vegan Diet

- Vit D, Vit C , Iron, omega 3

-Probiotic Lactobacillus Plantarum 299v (it help absorb iron)

-Tumeric, astaxanthin, spirulina,

-Carrot juice, celery juice, beet juice.

-Hawthorn berry or magnesium to stop rls immediately in an emergency but it eventually you wont need it.

I saw had miserable RLS for 15 years and not even the famous DR. B,(you know who I’m talking about) could help me. I’d still be on gaba p or paying $2000 a month for iron shots if I kept seeing him.

Please dont give up! I could not believe I was falling asleep naturally again, it was unreal, almost magical. This diet is very hard for some but fight! Fight for your health and peace of mind. If you drift away from the dietits okay you will just swim back to the shore. You can do it!

I sincerely hope this helps!

Fascinating!

We have always advocated keeping a food diary to pinpoint triggers.

Thank you for posting!👍💚💚

Diet and finding 'triggers' helps many with RLS. I'm delighted you have found your trigger and that you are RLS free.Everyone should try an elimination diet for a month or two to see if it helps.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for posting. Some people have more dietary triggers than others. I find that I have to be careful with sugar, caffeine and alcohol - cut back, not stop - but cannot tolerate aspartame.

I very rarely have any RLS symptoms since cutting out aspartame and statins, and just reducing sugar intake particularly in the evenings. We're all different!

Thanks for reporting on your experience. I find an ultra clean diet almost completely eradicates any breakthrough RLS. PLMD is a slightly different story...it's still a work in progress.

By ultra clean, i mean no processed food whatsoever, no sugar, no alcohol, very minimal gluten and only wholegrains, a lot of fruit and veg etc.

I had tried gluten free and low FODMAP diets previously but they didn't make any difference. Probably because I was still having a lot of what I no longer eat (processed food, sugars etc).

Edited to add: on the two occasions I have done an ultra clean diet, I have also increased the amount of walking I do in the week, so that may also contribute to reduced RLS.

I also continue to take pregabalin but have dropped from 300mg to 200mg nightly and plan to keep reducing.

Was your RLS mild, moderate or severe? And how did you determine which herbs, supplements etc to take?

In particular, the hawthorn Berry.

My rls I wouls day was severe. Although i know some people have rls 24 hours a day, mine was only at night. I could toss the entire time and wake up 10-20 time a night. I it also make made me feel like I had to urinate in the middle of the so I would wake up for that at least 6 times a night.

I basically have tried and researched every herb know to man and basically have had a pharmancy in my house. To stop the symptoms instantly the only things that worked is-

Weed

Maganesium suppliments

Magnesium lotion

Hawthorn berry

Peony root and licorice subsided the symtoms only a little bit.

Cbd-no ayurveda -No gabapentin-had to keep hpping the doasage to the point it effected my breathing .

have you tried Ashwagandha? I realized it helps surprisingly well.

Yes, it stabilises cortisol which is a glucocortinoid, the gluco part indicates that part of the molecule is sugar.

I am finding that it is most likely linked to leaky gut , I first halved mine by adding Doctor Gundry olive oil and and other oils by accident - I was trying to coat my nerve endings for pain and inflammation.

Then I had 5 months of strong antibiotics for Sepsis within days days my RLS Medication was nearly for 5 months , I took 4 to 6 weeks to return.yes I had H pylori since my nursing days studies show a large percentage age of suffers have SIBO .

I have also found that a lot of people don’t want to hear this .

I am having stemcell therapy in a few days in Antigua which is healing people with obvious leaky gut and I qualified for experimental treatment where they spray them up the nose for neurological disorders .

I’m so pleased you have worked it out ,Not only do we not store IRON we have trouble absorbing vitamins and nutrients.
