Anyone tried celery juice

Hello, my friend bought me a book at Christmas from medical medium where he believes our kind of condition comes from the EBV (virus), along with many other conditions and diseases. I am finding it interesting. He has an article on rls and recommends celery juice and cilantro. Has anyone ever tried his protocols?

While I don't put much trust in the 'Medical Medium' (who has to admit that "Neither Anthony William nor Anthony William, Inc. is a licensed medical doctor or other formally licensed health care practitioner or provider")...

Re: celery, see this past thread:

There are also several older posts: just search the forum posts for celery

(On the other hand considering how little a lot of (most?) GPs know about RLS - or indeed nutrition - perhaps I shouldn't be so dismissive of AW!)

I do find it interesting that he seems to know so much without a medical education. Perhaps it is a divine gift.

I do also agree, GP typically get stuck on the traditional protocols and that’s it. I am actually losing faith in the GP for anything outside the “norm” issues.

Appreciate your responses! Thank you!

Lespenny, you are right, anyone who has read his book knows that is just the case as he has had this gift from when he was just a child. He does not claim, or has ever claimed to be a doctor, but when close to someone he hears a voice that tells him about their health concerns. He did not really have a choice of a career and has been difficult at times. In answering your celery question, my husband and I made fresh celery juice every morning for years after reading most of his book. I did have RLS then but was on ropinirole (during the time it was working prior to augmenting on it years later) and didn’t even think about it possibly being helping RLS. I can tell you that I felt so much better when I was doing it. I guess now at 74 I just got lazy and slowly stopped doing it. It can be a lot of work keeping up with it. My daughter still does it as she has autoimmune issues. To make it easier, she juices on the weekend for the week and puts them in the freezer on canning jars. Pulls one out at night into refrigerator and by morning it’s defrosted. Not sure he would approve of that but it’s better than not doing it. It won’t hurt to try it to see if it helps. I have been considering starting it again as I only take CBD now for my RLS and sometimes do get breakthroughs. Maybe get to feeling better again. Good luck.

And this old post that includes coriander (cilantro) and others:

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but Anthony Williams is a complete quack.

This reply isn’t helpful. What doesn’t work for one person may work for another.

I'd consider being warned of a charlatan incredibly helpful.

I have to admit there are soooo many concoctions out there i don’t know how any of them can help with a neurological condition. Unless is a placebo effect

I personally would steer well clear of anything to do with mediums.

I really believe in Medical Medium! There are so many people healed by his methode. EBV causes many diseases. It’s hard to stick to the protocol. Because I’m addicted to sugar.

Hmmm, EBV was identified in 1964, RLS was identified in 1700’s. Not proof of anything but something to take into consideration.

I heard that you can control RLS by burning a frog on a moonless night! This controversy not withstanding - there are fantastic mind-body associations with health concerns - like a person with dissociated personality disorder (multiple personalities) and one persona presents with diabetes and another does not - all in the same person!

Pretty good read about Medical Medium here on Vanity Fair...

Anyone remember the Ivory soap between the bed sheets miracle too? I have no doubt that for some, RLS could be psychosomatic. However, for those of us who have RLS due to dopamine levels and/or ferritin levels because of the blood brain barrier and receptors being fried from dopamine agonists, it takes a whole lot more than any old wives tale or home remedy to keep RLS symptoms at bay.

No matter the cause, RLS sucks. If you find a remedy that works for you, cheers!

I have tried juicing pure organic celery juice, drank a large glass daily for 6 weeks every day and YES, it did help me tremendously. I did not add cilantro; didn't know that was helpful. Although I continue to juice occasionally for the health (my facial complexion glowed!) I did end up going on 200 ml of gabapentin because I still had RLS. I have been taking the gaba for about 3 months now and that low of a dosage is working.

I followed his protocol for years. Juiced celery, consumed cilantro in a smoothie , and took a ton of supplements he recommended. My RLS , which is mild, persisted. Nothing wrong with juicing celery or any other veggies. It is healthy, but it definitely is time consuming. Worth a shot! Blessings!

Celery is wonderfully anti-inflammatory but unless you use organic you may well be ingesting heaps of harmful chemicals which add to RLS problems. Celery is one of the "dirty dozen" and like strawberries, spinach etc I would never eat non organic. I have some every day, in a smoothie so consume the fibre as well (good for the gut) but I still get RLS so far manageable.
