Another one of those helpful suggestions from friends who mean well. I could write a book on them! However, this one may have possible merit? It’s working for kids who can’t sleep and I wondered if anyone here has tried it?
I tried a weighted blanket, revitive xi, iron tablets, magnesium tablets, vitamin D. All to no avail. The weighted blanket just made my RLS feel worse as you can't move your legs easily. I would try it for yourself though as everyone's mileage differs
I find it remarkable in this day and age that snake oil salesmen are still free to roam the earth.
I tried the weighted blanket. It felt kinda nice, but really didn't help with the RLS. It now sits in the drawer next to the grounded sheet.
Then I found Dr B and am sleeping well with a script of 5 mg methadone twice daily. I do have some problems getting pharmacies to fill the script, what with the moral panic against opioids here in the US.
I noticed that you quilt. I do as well, and if I do a lot of machine sewing my RLS increases. Now when this happens, I soak in Dr. Teal's epsom salts, take 2 or 3 Gabapentin and sleep 5 or6 hours uninterrupted. It is a miraclefor me after suffering for 25 years.
How interesting! When I quilt or sew my brain is so preoccupied I don’t have restless Legs. At night when I can’t sleep I often get up and do some sewing, then try sleeping again. Sometimes it works other times it won’t.
