Hi. Open to any feedback. Been taking ropinirole, (.75 mg) and oxycodone/acetaminaphine, (5 mg/325mg) for several years at 9 pm daily. Also take iron biglycinate plus vitamin C. Recently had a complete blood panel which included CBC, B-12, folate, ferritin, iron profile, comprehensive metabolism, and lipid panel. All normal except ferritin (438 ng/ml high), iron (61 mcg/dL low), iron saturation % (16 % low). The transferrin (253 mg/dL) and TIBC (377 mcg/dL) were in the normal range. My RL is controlled but I have severe muscle and joint pain after any form of exercise. I have experienced this after taking Mirapex (very severe) and then ropinirole (less severe but getting worse). Need suggestions on changes that could improve or reduce RL and pain.

Your ferritin is fine. It is not too high for those of us with RLS. Your iron saturation % is low at 16%. It should be above 20% so you may need an iron infusion. Check with a hematologist but this may be causing your muscle pain. And the ropinirole may be causing your muscle pain. I think this is the more likely the cause but you need the iron infusion anyway, If you decide it is the ropinirole, do not stop it cold turkey. Post back here for advice.
Thanks for your thoughts on my condition. I will email my GP with my concerns and see what he thinks. I will not increase any dosages on the Rxs I am taking and might try reducing the ropinirole some more. The iron infusion would be the best way forward in my opinion but have to see if the GP would prescribe it. Thanks again.
