Iron testing - results O.K.?

Just had my iron retested, having done it incorrectly the first time. This time, I stopped taking iron 48 hrs. before and fasted after midnight. I think the results look as though iron's not my problem. Can some more knowledgeable member let me know if that appears to be correct? Thanks!

Results shown as:- Aug. 18, 2022 @ 7:15 a.m.

Iron plasma = 16 umol/L

Total Iron binding capacity = 56 umol/L

Transferrin saturation = 0.29

Transferrin = 2.4 g/L

Ferritin = 167 ug/L

Great. Thanks. So, I can forget the iron entirely now, and just carry on reducing the Pramipexole? I'm stalled at 0.625 mg. now. Going VERY slowly, rather than too fast and possibly failing. But, guess I would tune in with the gabapentin when I get down to around 0.25 mg of the Pramipexole? I have set aside your details as to how and when to take it but not quite sure when to tune in with it - since I'm going so slowly? Not looking forward to these end phases!

Start the gabapentin 3 weeks before you are off the pramipexole although it won't fully work until you are off pramipexole for a few weeks. Great that you have come down so far. Hang in there and yes take it slow waiting for increased symptoms from each reduction to settle.

I recommend having your iron and ferritin drawn every 6 months. That is standard practice here in the US if you are treated by a RLS specialist. Your ferritin and transferrin are the values to keep a watch on. Looking good right now. Good for you!!

ah... you were taking iron. Your numbers look good. Don't stop taking supplements, it is working.
