Morning everyone. I have obtained some cbd oil with thc but am not sure how to use it for RLS. Please can someone who successfully uses it help with some advice please?I have been told it activates in about 30-60 minutes and to gradually take up to around a matchstick head amount. I know it causes a high so I'm not sure when to take it in relation to when I want to sleep. Xx

CBD with THC advice please
I take CBD oil with THC and mine says to take 4 drops 1-2 hours before bed time, monitor results and then increase if necessary.
I suggest you take it an hour before intended sleep time. Is it in liquid form with a dropper? A matchstick size dose seems like one drop in liquid form so that seems low.
Start slowly and see how you get on.
Oh how lucky you are to get the real deal. In the UK we can only get the "totally useless to RLS" version with the THC removed, this being the part that helps RLS. I really hope it works for RLS and eventually the numpties that control these things might eventually let us in the UK try it.
Does anyone know if its at all possible to get CBD with THC still contained in it, in the UK, as I thought it was still illegal here except for a couple of illnesses that GP's are allowed to prescribe it for, RLS not being one of them.
I’m in the UK and it is very illegal. I’m supposed to get it on the NHS because I have MS & it was legalised in 2017 but the MS Society is campaigning at the moment because there isn’t a single person with MS who has accessed it. I don’t care anymore - they can arrest me.
Go girl! Why legalise it for MS then refuse to prescribe it, honestly! This country is as mad as a box of frogs 🐸
Isn’t it just!
Oh how I love British humor! "mad as a box of frogs"
You have to have a sense of humour living in the UK 🇬🇧
Glad you approve of our humour 👍😉
mad as a box of frogs....too funny and I never heard that before. well only if the medical and politicians felt like hopping frogs, all of them, you can bet, THC would be legal.
Thanks so much Joolsg. It's a thick oil/paste . As you say I'll start low. And I'll try an hour before bed.How long do you get high feelings for?x
I don’t get high feelings because it knocks me out within an hour and I am in deep sleep for about 2 hours. When I wake then, the effects have worn off.
It’s a timing issue- take it about an hour before you would normally fall asleep and then you should be asleep before it kicks in.
I really hope it helps.
Watch the THC levels...when i was a hippie buying it off the street it was like 3 percent THC...I got some that was 97 percent THC two puffs of that might send
you to the ER,,,,I was thinking about going but ran the storm out.
There is one type called CBN no THC but works fairly well. I have tried CBD
low dose CBD and THC...did nothing. According to my Pain Doc gummies are
best because they slow release in the stomach...of course they can take you on a ride. I would start out low on the THC if your just starting...Some say the best mixture for pain is 50/50 mixture...Some folks mix it up with Kratom...i do the whole gammet opiods/benzos/NIR/Diet/Kratom. Some think and all meat and
tallow/lard diet will do it. No Charbs at all. 2 grams fat 1 gram protein. no dairy
no fruit ...no veggies/bread/sugar you got the picture. Kratom I use is Bumble Bee it seems to be the most pure...it does have pain relief and the addiction rate is like withdrawing off of coffee. If your not on opiotes i would suggest looking up
LDN low dose naldoxtrene (something like that)...wish my doc knew about it before throwing me on all that other stuff. I find Charbs and around electronic devices like big screen led tv/computers etc. screw my RLS all up so use a grounding mat for that and a thouand mg of magnesium. Someone on the forum suggested Glycine...there is evidence that is slows down the parasympathetic nervous system running down the spine...seems to help..start out at 1000 mg at bedtime then increase to 4ooo mg or what works...
From my understanding there is no cure...a bunch of different theories ...all I know it is a pain in my legs.
I take a high THC CBD oil (33-45% THC). It works wonders. In fact, that oil impressed me so much that I accepted a job as a distributor. Levels of THC in cannabis varies from plant to plant. Not by a huge difference, usually. So the oil will vary, too, slightly. For me, the oil works within 20 minutes. YRMV.I have clients who take as little as 1 drop to those like me who take a full dropper (1 ml)
I tell clients to start with 3 drops and adjust if needed.
The results are cumulative. You may not get results right away, but keep at it..You will get results.
It literally saved my sanity.
As far as feeling high goes, as Jools said - you'll be asleep.
That's such helpful feedback. Thanks for taking the time.x
hi again and all the advise you are getting is great. I do think you may be actually taking the RSO as I thought I read gooey and thick, that is RSO. And as said, don't worry about 'high.' You are in bed or asleep. Thank you all the friends who answered you. Wish I could send 'cookies' or 'jam' to friends in England.
A few important things to know are the strength and ratio of the oil you're taking- it's hard for anyone to tell you how much to take if you don't know the strength of your oil. I hate the feeling of being stoned but have read many things that say that the combination of THC/CBD works much better medicinally than either does alone so I mix them. My CBD oil is a 3:1 mix (3 parts CBD/1 part THC). I use about 1/4 dropper (25 ml) dropper at night and if I use it during the day I prob use about 6 drops- but my oil is not your oil so this guideline can't really apply to you. Does your bottle have a suggested starting dose? Do you know the ratio of THC/CBD? Do you know how many MG of each are in the bottle you have? If you don't have any of this info just go low and see what happens- Probably start with about 4 drops (drops NOT droppers full! : )
I began taking cannibus edibles about a month ago, i take some just at night as i prepare for bed, it takes about an hour to feel it. ( i really hate the feeling of being under the influence but it helps me sleep) anyway since i have been using it the RLS has stopped. It is expensive but it is worth it to me. No Requip for a week now and no side effects. Just blessed sleep.
Hi and thank you. I was reading these posts and wondering how it affects the prescribed medications I have been taking. I really want to get off of them! I toggle between ropinirole and pramipexole. So-did you just stop cold turkey? Thanks and congrats!
I began the oil while still on Sinemet but tapered off that while continuing with the oil. Now, it's just the oil! I take thyroid med, gabapentin (for a non-RLS nerve problem) and a BP med. I noticed no interaction.
I have stopped all meds. I still take iron, magnesium and pumpkin seeds. It has only been a few weeks but I am so happy. I do need a fairly high dose of THC somewhere between 50 and 100 mg each night.
I’m assuming you don’t live in the U.K. When in Vancouver last year I obtained some edibles which had little or no effect but then I knew nothing about THC
Since then I have tried edibles with THC ( not sure of the percentage) and they have helped me sleep for at least five hours or so but alas they are now finished.
A trip to Canada to replenish is not feasible. I could fly to Amsterdam but these particular edibles are not available there, and I wouldn’t know where to start finding something comparable.
RLS is a wretched condition, and I can quite understand how people are pushed to the brink.
I haven’t read all the comments and I know some people will like my suggestion and some will shy away from it...... get a seed, grow it, learn how to nurture it, shred it, extract the oil and use it baby. If you understand what I’m saying then you are entering the world of natural complete relief 😊
Thank you. X
I found the CBD helps the RLS more and THC for sleep. I’ve tried combo oils and RSO and didn’t like the way I felt the next morning. Very blurry eyes and out of sorts. Not good when driving grandchildren around. I started buying the CBD capsules and THC edibles. Then I can control each separately and know exactly how much I’m getting. Believe it or not, so far 5 mg of THC 2 hrs before bed is enough to get me to sleep. 60mg of CBD takes care of the legs. Also take 2 hrs before bed. Always start slow with both and work up to what helps.
I have been experimenting with various kinds of cannibus for the past two months. So far i found i need a lot of thc to help me sleep. My best results have been with a 1000mg cookie that lasts about 10 days but it is expensive ( $50.00) so i have infused weed buds into oil to make brownies, 1/4 oz into 1 cube of butter to make 16 brownies. One of those works well. I've tried tinctures ( it made me vomit). Straight CBD doesn't help me at all. Indica cannibus is best for sleep. I'm in California so its legal here , this week I'm trying a pill the dispensary told me works well for sleep ( $35.00 for 15 pills). I will post if they work.
