My constipation is so annoying

I am tired

I am burping. I can’t break wind

I feel sick. Burning in the top off my stomach. I am dizzy.

I take Senna at night and bisicodol in the morning

I am fed up.

Any ideas.

Hi

Yes. Purchase a copy of Dr Sarno M.D.’s book ‘The Divided Mind.’ It’s on Amazon around £13

In it he explains about the explosion of ‘ailments’ in the West (including IBS, reflux, bad backs etc). His theory (and I believe he demonstrates this fully in the book) is that we are burying hidden rage in our sub-conscious. Our conscious brain does it’s job in keeping it down by creating an ‘ailment’ that we can focus us on instead. Dr Sarno says it’s part of the human condition and perfectly normal. If it wasn’t there we might behave in violent and unacceptable ways.

The book explains how to deal with your/anyone’s ailments which are not caused by a serious physical injury.

Hope that makes sense.

Is senna helping with the constipation..? If not, then you need something stronger and if you get your constipation under control then i think the burbing etc will improve.

I have had good luck with a product called MiraLAX, made by Bayer. It’s available from Amazon in the U.S. Not sure about other geographies.

Good luck!

Magnesium Citrate works wonders for both RLS & constipation. Take 2 tablets at night and drink lots of water in the day.

Also increase vegetables. Try to have 3 or 4 portions at least with evening meal.

The magnesium should really help.

Magnesium does the trick for me! I use a powdered version (Natural Calm) which is easier to regulate. I read on here that it is best to not take it close to the time you take gababetin, which is what I am on.

That’s right- 2/3 hours before or after the Gabapentin or Lyrica.

What is your Tramadol prescription?

I LOVE Kombucha for intestinal regularity. Just a 12 ounce glass every morning with my vitamins helps repopulate my gut biome, helping regularity, and less stomach burning. I just bought my SCOBYs from Kombucha Kamp and grow my own. It takes 3 - 4 weeks for the SCOBYs to convert all of the sugar (my hubby is diabetic), but I love how well it works. Best luck in getting your system sorted

I took Tramadol only a short time and stopped due a variety of side effects.

But I found taking two tablespoons of ground flax seed morning and evening prevented constipation. The ground flax as omega 3 fats and lictens (not sure of sp) that are also very beneficial.

Is that the same as chia seeds.

I think they are similar but flax more available and easier to use from what I have read. Dr.Greagerat nutritionfacts.com recommends ground flax. Keep in freezer after grinding or grind fresh for each use. Drink plenty of water with it. Eliminate milk, cheese and meat as they contain no fiber and cause constipation and other problems. Lots of whole grains, fruit and veggies.

Dear Dasymoo, I take Tramadol, 100 mg. daily in the evening. There is no reason for you to be suffering with constipation, there are several things you can take during the day and I take some at night before bed. In the morning when I take other medications I need for other problems, I use the measured those required of Benefiber in a small glass of water, you can put in in any liquid and it has no flavor, then in the evening in another little glad of water I use a capful of Miralax. These two products are over the counter and work very well for me. I ALSO make a little tea from the health vitamin shop called SMooth Move and the other is Get regular. I make a small cup with a bag of each (they come in teabag form), I take it to bed with me and drink it right before I decide to fall asleep. Try just one of the teas first before using the two together, you might not need both, I let the teabags sit in the glass till I drink the whole thing, they come in flavors of mint, camomile and not sure if other flavors, I really enjoy them and the following day the relief starts. Good luck, you will have succes with what I mentioned.
