I also am experiencing excessive daytime sleepiness and brain fog from the Kratom. It definitely helps the RLS and helps me sleep at night. Only been on it 10 days so I hope this will improve. Using red vein Borneo or Red Bali about 2 tsp a night.

Daytime Sleepiness from Kratom
Hi CindyPatt,
Glad it’s helping the RLS & letting you sleep at night. Shame it’s lasting into daytime.
Maybe someone who uses it regularly can give you some advice on that. There are a few kratom users who may come along soon.
Maybe reduce to one spoon?
Hi Cindy,
I’ve been taking Kratom exclusively for four years now.. it did cause quite a bit of daytime sleepiness initially and I still feel it sometimes. I’ve only been taking the red vein Borneo strain which is quite sedating. It certainly helps the restless legs, but I wonder if the Kratom somehow prevents people from getting into the deep restorative phases of sleep? Or it’s a different mechanism?
I’d be interested to hear if anyone who has been on it long term has experienced this too.
I too find Kratom very helpful with the legs. I don't experience excessive daytime sleepiness (I take two doses of two teaspoons each pee night, along with 200mg pregabalin) but I do need quite a lot of sleep - maybe 10+ hours per night. I think this is a combination of a disturbed night (I am woken by my legs jerking around 1am and that is when I take the second dose) and my body needing extra sleep to cope with the drugs.
What strain of Kratom do you use? Thanks for replying!
Primarily red vein Borneo but recently I have introduced other red strains to see if they are more effective/help with tolerance. I also use Red Thai and red Malay. I find it difficult to judge but I think alternating the strains does help with symptoms.
