How much kratom to relieve compulsion to move AND to help one sleep?
I was traveling yesterday and, late last night, after I arrived at my destination, my RLS kept me awake. I took 1 tsp in a cup of juice and although it took care of the compulsion to move, it made my mind race and I had trouble falling asleep. It was red Borneo.

I have used kratom in the past as a sole treatment for my refractory RLS. And still use it occasionally when my current treatment proves insufficient.
In my view it is always important to try and find the lowest effective dose. Start low with a 1/4 teaspoon. See how it affects you. As kratom works quite fast, you should know in 1/2-1 h. If insufficient effect and no or little side effects, add another 1/4 teaspoon. Etc. In a few days to a week you will know what you need and can tolerate without noticeable or too much side effects. Also, I found by building up somewhat slowly, my body could get used to the unwanted/side effects of kratom and I tolerated the kratom well.
Hope this experience helps. Red vein borneo is a good one for RLS.
Sorry to hear that! I've tried many of the reds, including red borneo, and I have never experienced it as a stimulant. I use it almost every night. The only thing I could add is to maybe have some Delta 8 gummies on hand the next time you try dosages-will definitely put you to sleep. You can get them at any smoke shop, too. Try the 50 mg's.
Sure! You know, you can do juice or any liquid but I just keep a bottle of water and a cup with a measuring teaspoon next to my bed so I don't have to get up.
I use 1 teaspoon (or sometimes 2 teaspoons) in about 1/2 cup of water and sometimes I don't drink all of it at once. I drink most of it and it works very fast.
I take Kratom (Red Borneo) in capsule form 2/3 times a week, although not an exact science, 6 capsules( 2grms approx) will normally give 60/70% relief from the dreaded RLS/PLMD without insomnia, double the amount is guaranteed to induce insomnia for 2/4hours but just about completely relieve symptoms.
thank you. I have the powder form but I have read on here that you can make your own capsules. I will try to make them when I get home. I’m traveling now and unable to get a good walk or lots of physical activity while I’m staying with a family member. I’m hoping that when I get home, my legs will be better. But I’ll also make some capsules.
Abby-the mitragaia website I have posted about has capsules already made. MUCH easier. I use those, too, and they can prolong the effects overnight. I also put a couple in my pocket in the evening if I am going out, just in case.
I have never experienced insomnia with any amount I have taken-perhaps you should try that website for the quality, etc. Might make the difference?
Thank you, TeddiJ! That’s the site I bought the powder from. I wasn’t sure about the capsules at the time I bought the powder. Now that you’ve told me, next time I can order the capsules.
The skinny on kratom is that in low doses it acts as a stimulant and at higher doses it acts as a sedative. What's the line between low and high? My guess would be about 2-3 teaspoons (4-6 grams), although individual responses will certainly vary. Google "kratom" and read, read, read. Best of luck!
Hi! Very good to know...I will have to pay attention the next time I take a small dose-I don't remember feeling stimulated. Thanks for the info and for telling me about kratom in the first place-you were a lifesaver for me!
