I have been taking Magnesium supplements (only from Asda) and I have noticed that my symptoms have lessened just a little AND I do not suffer every night any more! The tablets are 350 strength once a day. I am keeping a chart to ensure a 'fair' test over a few months. I will let you all know!

Good luck Wendy. As in my previous post I have been taking magnesium for over two months now and zero restless legs and arms which was escalating every night.
Madlegs- I was taking magnesium citrate 400mgs. It did have quite an effect on my bowels so have now reduced the dose to 200mgs. And all is well!
Tablets won't do it. When the pain is in the legs, you must get to the source of the pain by treating your LEGS. I use magnesium oil morning and night.
I get this from Holland and Barrett, they often have special offers on MAGNESIUM OIL consequently I take advantage of this.
I tried magnesium oil religiously massaging it into my legs every night but it did not work for me. Everyone needs something different and tablets have lessened RLS for me - not 'cured' it, but hey, it helps.
YOU do not have RLS. The oil may help the "pains in your legs", but RLS is NEUROLOGICAL. I have tried anything you can possibly mention, so please do not tell us how to treat RLS when you have admitted that you do not have it. Edited to show this is for 7tally7. Stuff went on that some people might not have seen, and it has been deleted.
Was your reply for me or someone else as I have never admitted I do not have RLS. The neurologist diagnosed me some years back.
Your reply was rather blunt anyway whoever it was for!
I am certainly not telling anyone how to treat RLS but only trying to help others ease the horrible symptoms.
I have read so many posts on this site and tried all sorts. I have researched RLS and I agree about the neurology, but if something helps relieve the symptoms surely this should be shared.
Nightdancer's comment was not meant for you but the comment above yours. Sometimes comments dont go in order. And she had good reason for her comment which you probably missed a few days ago.
I dont think she has seen it yet. You will find she is a great supporter for people who suffer with RLS. She runs her own RLS group, and her mission in life is raising awareness for RLS..
That was not for you at all. it was for someone who was jerking us around, and the offending posts have been removed by the Admins. So, you do not know what led up to this, but it certainly was not directed at you. The replies on here go all over the place and do not end up where want them.
I took tablet form and it made me ill as I have stoma due to cancer it was awful never been so ill but my daughter mate got flakes etch made me a spray for my legs it's great for me it tingles a bit Witch means my magnesium is low yes it helps big time good luck buddies
I use magnesium oil also. I spray it on my legs, arms, and torso. I don't know if it helps my rls specifically but I do this as a way to most effectively absorb magnesium. Magnesium is so necessary for so many things in our bodies and there is so much info about how easy it is for us to be magnesium-deficient. I know the skin is a good way for the body to absorb things whereas at times our GI system is not. So I feel this helps me meet my magnesium needs. I know you can buy it but I found a website that has an easy way to make my own-MUCH CHEAPER!. I have no vested interest in this site but I will share it because it has helped me in so many ways. Go www,wellnessmama.com. Hope this is informative.
Wendy - suggest you give a more potent form of magnesium a try - google 'migraine stop' my caps have 1200mg of Mg chelate, 195mg Mg Orotate and 200mg Mg Citrate plus Vit B6 (important for the magnesium to be absorbed into the muscles). Bloody brilliant for me and if you are getting signs that it works for you then trying out a more prescriptive dose might just make an impact.
