Thank you for the article. ! It SOUNDS like this new drug they are testing D-512 isnt a dopamine med if i am reading it right. So, we will have to see how things work out for PD when they get to trial it on real patients and find out what exactly that new drug is .

Yes, I saw this and wondered if it would have any significance for us. I just don't have the medical knowledge to work it out in spite of trying.

My efforts reminded me of an exchange between the brilliant barrister F.E. Smith and an unco-operative judge:

Judge: "I've listened to you for an hour and I am none the wiser, Mr. Smith."

F. E. Smith: "None the wiser, my lord, but certainly better informed."

Only I'm not sure if I'm even better informed!

LOL. we need to know what D-512 is, the ingredients and HOW it works. As PD symptoms differ to RLS symptoms , it might not be a med for us. Guess its a wait and see, and they havent got to testing on Humans yet.

Yes ... exactly what I thought - there isn't enough information for my untrained mind to assess the possible impact.

There is a list of new drugs approved for Parkinson's,s Disease by the FDA (US)unfortunately the print was too small to read so will have to find a loupe for further information

D-512 is a dopamine agonist:

also

PLEXTOL D 512 is a finely dispersed aqueous dispersion of a methacrylic ester-acrylic ester copolymer. Just as I suspected initially :)

I'm optimistic. Our main hope is improved Parkinson meds that are good for us too. Mind you, though I have great empathy for rats, I'm happy that a small group of the dear creatures has been manipulated to have RLS by medicos for research. I hope they cure them, then us.

Oh, I'm optimistic as well! I really hope it makes headway! I'm sorry if my reply sounded anything but. I guess it was a bad joke; not everyone understands my sense of humour!

No I got it! I laughed. It was a good joke. I too looked up the medical paper and went, "wha ...?"

My wife would say me disappointing a women is nothing new :)

On the plus side it might be a very effective DA that is very effective. Fingers crossed.

LOL x100!!!

Thanks raffs, so now we know what D-512 is. But another DA.... and we know what DA''s eventually can do, if the dose keep getting increased, unless this DA is a non augmentation one. Just keep the hope.
