Drug free treatment?

Just found an ad for The Restless Legs Clinic, apparently endorsed by NHS Choices. Has anyone heard of it?

Can you post that ad on here so we can see it... ? or tell us where you saw the ad that we can go and read it..?

I found this just by googling and my opinion is ... they say muscles and RLS is not anything to do with our muscles, its neurological so that i have a problem with them saying muscles. But i am posting it for other to read.

Guess anythings worth trying if it means not taking horrible meds!! But like everyone says, we all respond differently and we all have to find our ways of dealing with this awful condition. Magnesium and iron tablets have (so far!!) taken away my rls and I have stopped pramipexole, but, as I said in a previous post, the PLMD is still effecting my sleep. Onwards and upwards......stay strong .

Interesting. Maybe some of our members with severe RLS could give it a try and write a review.

I've spent a small fortune on chiropractors- one specialising in neurological disorders and another who used manipulation and exercises. Didn't work for me.

I'm pretty certain this wonderful new technique wouldn't work either.

I enquired about this earlier in the year . It was going to cost around £400 + which would be fine if you knew it was going to work but is a lot to waste if it doesn't.

I agree, it's very expensive, only a very last resort perhaps.

I'm afraid that I can see no logical clinical reasoning as to why this would work. As a neurological physiotherapist I have spent 36 years in practice lengthening tight muscles around the pelvis and thigh area of patients, but I am not aware of any correlation between tight muscles and RLS, or of any physiological reason for a connection between the two. On a personal note I have hypermobility syndrome and I have exceptionally long low toned muscles around the pelvis and thighs, but I also have RLS, so again that seems to counter the claims of this clinic. I think £400 is a lot to pay for an experimental therapy with no evidence.

Amazing! The clinic is just 10 miles from where I live!

Need to get a couple more blood tests done, vitamin D and Coeliac, then I'll be giving them a call.

They also list foods which can trigger RLS, some of which I have every day!

Thank you for posting the link, it has given me new hope at least.

Great! I have no idea if it'll work but anything is better than drugs. I've found that magnesium and virtually eliminating sugar from my diet has (so far!?) left me RLS free after over 10 years of struggling with it. But, if it comes back, I would definitely try this option. Please let me know how you get on.
