Reading the posts tonight has been very enlightening ! But has anyone tried hypnosis to re boot the dopamine system ? Or to help ease the stress of this annoying ailment.
Also what iron is best to take, what does and when ?
Huge thanks

I've often wondered about that, especially since I started reading about epigenetics and how we can activate or deactivate or genes through environmental and MENTAL stimuli.
The Iron is Iron Bisglycinate or Gentle Iron and is meant to be more absorbent and less constipating than normal stuff. Best taken with orange juice on an empty stomach in the evening.
If you go for the hypnosis let me know how you get on.
Thanks for that riffs , I'll get my iron checked out too.
Sorry should have said raffs 😆
Hi Hamish thought about hypnosis but never did it ,as for the iron have you had yours tested because maybe you don't need any ,I have rls bad at times but my iron is fine ,good luck
My Iron was fine (Ferritin Level 49) but From Johns Hopkins Website "Since the 1950s, it has been known that iron therapy, even without the presence of anemia has benefits for RLS symptoms. Studies have shown a strong relation between body iron stores as determined by serum ferritin and the severity of the RLS symptoms. A study has shown that in patients whose serum ferritin was < 75 µg/l, oral iron therapy (325 mg ferrous sulphate twice a day on an empty stomach) on average improved RLS symptom after 3 months." I would use the Iron Bisglycinate as a better alternative. Iron supplementation has totally removed my symptoms
Regarding hypnosis, I was lucky enough to have a friend who trained in hypnotherapy and kindly offered to treat me, convinced that he can make a difference. I went into it open minded and very grateful but after 3 sessions, I had to admit that I had noticed no difference at all, I have also tried acupuncture, but again found it no help. Unfortunately after suffering for 38 years, I can say that only medication has made the slightest difference. However, as we all know, everyone is different, and it's always worth exploring alternatives, just don't be drawn in to spending large amounts of money.
