Any chelated one will do. The oxide is good as a laxative- 400. But any will do the job. Can search online for particular uses- it is a minefield.

If you ate on gabapentin take mg 3hrs separate. Mg potentiates opiates - like alcohol and grapefruit juice- so avoid completely.

If you're looking for rls relief- then consider a rub- make up 50/50mix of water and epsom saltz and rub on the legs. Or have a hot bath of saltz ( 1 cup in bath) but not more than 20 mins soakingor you will undo the benefit.

Good luck.

Agree, there is no right kind. I like the laxative effect and that is the only reason I take it, Does not help my RLS one bit, but could for you. You only know if you try.

According to Doctor Buchfuhrer of rlshelp.org:

"Magnesium is of no help for RLS symptoms".

Although I take it any way and I missed out my vitamins last week and the RLS was noticeably worse, its eased again with the reintroduction of them. So whether its placebo or not it seems to help me!

I totally go by what Dr. B says. But if it helps you, fine. Magnesium is meant to work on the smooth muscles, which would mean leg cramps. but like i said if it helps, then who cares. I use it for a laxative. LOL When you take a high dose of it, it is good for that. otherwise there is nothing that says you can OD on MAG, so go for it.

The best I have tried and works is called "goodnight magnesium spray" . It can be bought from Holland and Barrat or Internet. Spray just before getting into bed and it works a treat. Highly recommend it.

Shon 48, I think it was you that recommended the " goodnight magnesium spray", I went ahead and ordered it, I live in the USA so it came from the UK. I LOVE it, I don't think it takes it away completely, but there's no doubt that it helps a lot and makes you relaxed so you can sleep, like the name " goodnight". I don't go to bed without it.

Where exactly did you obtain it?

I purchased it through Amazon.com

After reading the label it said it was from the UK. If you're in the UK try finding it at a pharmacy, it's not very expensive and maybe even cheaper over there because of no transportation fees. Good luck, if you find it, do give it a try, I rub it on my thighs because that's where I feel my RLS , I also have used it on my shoulders and it just gives you a relaxed feeling.

That's excellent news and I agree there are still a few nights I dance but certainly not nearly the same as before when I used to dread going to bed. Nice to hear a bit of good news . 🤗

I wish you luck. I LOVE the product, but keep in mind so you won't get frustrated, somethings don't work for everyone, others haven't been as lucky. Let us know how you felt about it.

I also use a machine called Revitive which is like a tens machine but you place your feet on it for thirty minutes and I've found that it has helped more with the RLS than what I bought it for which was peripheral neuropathy in my feet due to chemotherapy. It's a great machine and you can get it on a thirty day free trial . Www.revitive.com , well worth a look at.

I bought the magnesium spray from Holland and Barret but it didnt do anything for my RLS..:( Tis a strange one, that magnesium which has no reason to help with RLS at all, seems to help alot of people. :)

Shona i also have a machine like you have, put your feet on it, unfortunately for me the vibration seem to set my RLS off even more. :( I bought mine cheap off of ebay.
