How desperate are some of you? Has anyone ever tried acupuncture? I googled it, and did find quite a few returns, though haven't taken the time to weed through them yet. I've gotten desperate enough with back and neck trouble to consider acupuncture for that. Needles?? AAUUGGHH!!

Acupuncture
Hi jmwe
I had 6 sessions of acupuncture on the nhs years ago for neck discomfort but the good effect did not last long. I found it very relaxing and felt tired afterwards but it did not work for me. I have heard acupucture can be beneficial for back problems though but not gone down that road myself.
Kaarina
Found an interesting article by a guy who has treated people with acupuncture and he's there in the UK- aim.bmj.com/content/early/2...
spent a lot of money on acupuncture. Didn't work for me. back to tablets.
I think the above replies sum it up well. I have friends who have tried acupuncture for sundry disorders and sometimes obtained temporary relief - most probably the placebo effect. I would not waste any money on it, nor on any of the other currently fashionable so-called alternative therapies.
