The Chinese have traditionally used acupuncture for treating RLS patients. I would be interested to find out if anyone on the forum has any experience of this form of treatment and whether or not it was successful.

Acupuncture for RLS
I have tried acupuncture in the past and it did nothing for my RLS.
I did try it and whether it was just a coincidence, it appeared to work at that time for a short while. Trouble was the cost of each session.
Hi I tried this treatment about 12 years ago ,I went twice a week for six weeks and no change, so was told very nicely that I'd be wasting my money to go any farther ,but things might be different now and as we all know anything is worth a try
My sister has occasional RLS and says acapuncture has worked for her.
Didnt work for me but have heard some people say it helps so if you have spare cash there is no harm in trying it
I have not noticed a difference after one session, which is all I was offered.
same as Mopsy...I gave it a really good try and my therapist tried very hard , but she advised me to give it up.
I tried a course of acupuncture. IT didn't work for me. Give it a go because it might work for you. They do get results with some patients. I was not so lucky.
Back to the medication!!!!!!
I get really bad bouts of spasms and jerks throughout my body but especially in my legs when I am close to dropping off to sleep. It can keep me awake for hours and feels horrible. I think it's related to RLS. I take Ropinerole for it but it does not seem to do much. It got especially bad after I had heart surgery and has been driving me and my partner mad.
My partner took me to an acupuncturist last week. He did two sessions and gave me meds to take that are supposed to help me keep calm. My symptoms have nearly completely stopped. I know it's early days but I am keeping my fingers crossed. So far, this seems like a miracle cure.
