I'll stop in the morning............
I coughed my way through another day
Nicotine having it’s filthy way,
For every fag smoked, I’m now having to pay.
I’ll stop in the morning, I hear my head say.
Well, I went down with such a terrible blight
Could hardly breathe, try as I might
I breathed trifle by day and treacle at night
I was somehow involved in some dangerous fight.
Puking, retching, aching and stuff
Till I reached a point where enough is enough
I've got to quit smoking, no matter how tough
I’m making a stand, No more shall I puff.
If I keep on like this, I will soon need a hearse
So pack it in now before it gets worse
With the strength I've got left, I’ll fight off this curse.
Like a prize winning boxer, I’ll walk with the purse
Well, I've just completed a week and a day
With lozenges keeping the cravings at bay
Quitsupport backing me all of the way
My infection is fading and going away
On every new morning as I see the sun rise
I am clawed at by Nicotine feeding me lies
But I know what is folly and I know what is wise
I'm not going back there, I've opened my eyes.
