I'm on my 45th day of not smoking, yet I still think about it everyday. I'm using the patches and they help me, although they give me terrible dreams, am I alone in this or Is it normal? I am so scared that I will give in, I never want to have to go through this again, that's what Is spurring me on at the moment.

When will i get over this
Oh Shazzie your not alone....I stopped 3months ago, and I dream of cigarettes....I went cold turkey, but have now bought the spray, which is terrible, tastes awful, gives me heartburn, makes me cough and sneeze!!!! I really dont know what the answer is.....Keep going though, Im sure we will feel the benefit soon.....
It's fantastic that you've stopped smoking but you still have nicotine from the patches ... if you want to try another method I would really recommend try reading a book called Allen Carr's Easyway to stop smoking. I bought my copy off ebay for just £2.50 .... and by reading it you get a different mind set and have the courage to escape Nicotine as soon as you finish reading the book. I stopped smoking 27th Feb and had smoked for the past 28 years. Dreaming about smoking is ok ... it's a nightmare .... but what happens in real life is the relief knowing that you are actually already a non smoker.
I stopped smoking 47 days ago and feel good. I used the patches to start with but stopped them 4 weeks ago and although it was tough when I first stopped with the patches u can get through it. I found out it takes three weeks for the nicotine to leave the body completely although don't let that put u off cause its not three weeks of hell as u gradually feel better each day. I feel exactly the same as u I couldn't go through giving up it so I am determined to crack it. I am annoyed cause I also think about it every day but I know I am not going to smoke again. Hope this helps and keep going it so worth it xx
Hey Everyone, these feelings are pretty normal. Just imagine that if you hadn't stopped smoking, you wouldn't be feeling any of this, so something is going in the right direction!
Nicotine can leave your body within 48 hours and so unless you are getting any certain amounts by using NRT, then it is simply your mind that is craving, not your body. However, this is the main challenge that most people face when stopping smoking. Given time, after staying strong and remembering the reasons that you gave up in the first place and want to stay stopped, these negative thoughts and feelings will begin to fade.
Stay positive and remember, if you stick at it you won't have to go through all this again. It will get easier....
