I smoked 20 or so roll ups a day for more years than I care to remember, but I've never had a cough. I should be glad really, but does that mean my lungs are more coated with tar and stuff than people who manage to cough some up?

I quit two weeks ago and was wondering if it was 'normal' not to have a cough by now?
Hi....I quit almost 6wks ago and have only just started to cough...Im not sure if its normal or not.....well done on giving up....
Hi Linda, thanks for answering. And well done to you too.
Hi Cathryn, congratulations on your 2 weeks of being smokefree!
As with any of the symtoms of recovery, coughing, pins and needles etc it isn't a definate that you will experience every one of them, some people may experience one or two, whilst the next person may get every withdrawal symptom under the sun! The important thing is to remain positive, be happy if the withdrawal symptoms pass you by, see them as a symptom of recovery if they don't.
Well done, you must be really pleased with yourself!
I've been stopped over a month and was expecting a bad throat, but still feel fine ... here's to everyone good health,
smoke free
It's exactly a month for me now too. Still no coughing.
