Hello everyone and a very warm welcome to our new membersπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
The countdown to Christmas is well and truly under way and I hope your quit journeys are on trackππͺ
I find it very useful to have a βto doβ list at this time of year. To-do lists are powerful tools for achieving your goals. By breaking down larger objectives into manageable tasks, they create a clear roadmap to help you on your quit journey.
When we complete individual tasks our brains release dopamine which causes positive feelings such as happiness and motivation. When weβre positively motivated to do something, we attribute positive feelings towards repeating the process.
The first Christmas party you get through smoke free is an amazing sense of achievement. Every event we experience smoke free builds our confidence. The more practice we get, the more familiar we become with it. Have your list to hand and if you sense a wobble, take a quick look at it to remind yourself why you want to stay smoke free. Tick off every single achievement and donβt forget to have your NRT replacement with you.
The best thing is when someone offers you a cigarette and you can say NO THANKS, I donβt smoke anymoreβ with a sense of pride. Itβs a truly great feeling π
Stick to your plan and stay smoke free, itβs the best thing you can do for yourself.
Wishing you all a very happy weekend and letβs stay smoke free for Christmas ππͺπ€ π π€Άπ»π«βοΈπ°π«βοΈπ§
