Almost 5 weeks quit

I quit vaping on 28th October 2019 and I want to tell you the story of how and why in order that hopefully it will help other people just like I have found solace in this group.

The moment happened when I’d hired a beach buggy and upon returning said buggy I left my vape in the glove compartment. Whilst walking back to my car I realised I’d forgotten it, no biggie I thought I’ll just run back and get it...

I ran back to the hire place and realised the buggy had gone and they’d closed up. I called the guy, no answer, started banging on the door, no one there, and panic set in. Picture the scene, raining, cold, in the middle of the street and I caught myself in the mirror of the hire place. Soaking wet, desperate and pathetic.

That’s when it hit me. I am dependent and I am an addict. So I quit. Cold turkey. The first week was awful, I couldn’t think properly, I felt sick, anxious, shaken and lost. I threw away £100s worth of fluids and an old vape I sometimes used.

Fast forward to a month later and here I am. I am not dependent, I don’t constantly crave a smoke and I am free. I must add there are still difficult times. When you’re with your friends who smoke or vape and often during emotional times. If I’m stressed or anxious I find that is the most difficult. But I tell myself, smoking won’t make these times easier, this is just life!

So to those who have just started quitting please keep going, even when it is tough and to those ahead of me I want to say thank you for your inspiration and guidance during some very difficult times.

Peace out ✌️ QV
