Hi all, day 10 for me today. I just feel so tired all of the time, did anybody else feel like this? Thanks, Holly
Fatigue?: Hi all, day 10 for me today. I just... - Quit Support
Fatigue?
Hi Holly, tired? well yes big-time I'm afraid. It varies though from person to person and some don't feel tired at all.
Personally I was knackered, with zero energy, for at least 7 weeks out of my 8, but it is picking up now thank goodness. Age maybe a factor with available energy, so the younger you are the more vitality you probably have, but if you are an oldie like me (64) probably the less likely. Everyone is different really.
It is said that the first week is the worst, and you have got there already...........well done; so beyond that point I would say your energy will probably pick up, but this also depends on how long you smoked for and how many.
Great achievement as a one week winner.
Hi, oh no!!! UGH! I'm about the same age as you and smoked for over 40 years. I'll tough it out, glad to know that I'm not the only one. Thanks for your reply and congratulations on 8 weeks! Holly
Hi holly
Like Chris I was tired 😴 all the time, it's just getting better now.
Like everything in this process, it will pass.
Stay strong 💪🏻 you can do it 👍

Thanks Karen! Looks like I might have a few weeks to go, appreciate your reply.
Staying strong, I've made it this far (which I didn't think would be possible) and I don't ever what to go through this again.
Congratulations on 7 weeks and hope you have a great smoke free weekend!
Holly
Hi Holly
Yes totally wiped out for several weeks. It does go away eventually. If u need to sleep sleep when u can. 😀🚭
Well, that's the other problem, I can't sleep either, LOL!! Makes no sense, seems that getting more oxygen should give me more energy, guess I better google this. Thanks so much for your reply and congratulations 16 months! Holly
Holly, Insomnia is also a problem for many quitters I'm afraid as with yours truly.
I persevered but this is resolved eventually and everything returns to normal.
Hi,
Just found this on the internet, and along with your replies, this makes me feel a bit better.
Rest, then get some more rest.
Your mind and body are going through an intense physical healing processes. You feel tired and fatigued because you are tired and fatigued.
Don’t make things more difficult by attempting to go about your daily life as though things are normal, they are not.
Yup and yup unfortunately. So tired, but no sleep. I started to feel a bit more energy around 7 weeks. It's tough, but oh so worth it. Congrats on 10 days. Hope the Chantix is helping😀
Unreal, I think I'm more tired today than any day since beginning my journey. The fatigue is almost worse that than the cravings, but just another small bump in the road, I have noticed that the cravings are becoming less and less and not so intense, hopefully the Chantix is building up in my system. Think I'll try to take my dogs for a quick walk, maybe the fresh air will help. Thanks again for the words of encouragement, can't wait for my 8 week mark, congratulations, way to go!!
I felt very tired too. I just kept telling myself to be kind to me. Rest when you need to... even if you can't sleep, just rest.
Also you may have a day or more here and there that you feel a little bit better, get a brisk walk round the block in, really helps to get your heart pumping, even for a short time.
I'm 42 and it took a good 6-8 weeks to start feeling better too. When I stopped 2 years before this quit, didn't feel a thing. Weird how it can change so much on each quit. This is my last one, done with dirty fags for good now💪💪🚭🚭.
Well done on your quit. You're doing great!!.xx
Thank you!! Congrats on 3 months!! Holly
Thanks😊. It really is worth it. I feel so much better now and have much more energy than when I smoked. You can do this.😊Angie
I was cleaning out drawers yesterday and found a pack of open cigarettes, I sure thought I had tossed everything out including ashtrays and lighters. My heart started racing, and my hands started shaking, I have to admit I was excited and thought to myself, oh, just one puff. Something took my hand and put the pack under water, took so much willpower, I think this experience zapped my energy, I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow, no such thing as just one puff for me. Hope you have a great day and a wonderful weekend and thanks again for all of your help, Holly
Hi holly you're doing fab reaching day 10👍 and I think about 90% of quitters experience some form of fatigue, lack of concentration, insomnia etc during their quit which can last several weeks. We used to think smoking lifted our mood and yes it did for a short while but how long was it before we needed to lift our mood again and we just kept on with this process until we no longer wanted to lift our mood in this dangerous way. Exercise, already suggested, is a great way to lift your mood as is treating yourself cause you're doing an amazing thing after 40yrs so be very proud of yourself and stick with it cause it really does get easier 😄
Hi, thanks for your reply. I have no idea how I found this site, but I have met so many amazing people like yourself that have and continue to provide support and encouragement. I don't think I could do this without all of the help, amazing! Hope you have a great weekend, Holly
Hope you are having a great Easter weekend hholly. How are things going for you in your quit.?
I'm nearly 9 weeks, which is a good if not a great feeling. Cant wait till I'm fully healed or as far healed as I can be.
Take good good care, and remember..............Not one more puff............EVER !!
Hi Chris, my quit is going well, 13 days today, last week was really difficult, I mean really difficult! The fatigue almost did me in, I'm feeling pretty good today. Your posts to everyone are so supportive and encouraging, thanks so much and Congratulations on 9 weeks, I'm doing a happy dance for you, haha! Have a wonderful day, Holly
Many thanks for that hholly, that's very kind of you to say so. I know how difficult the first week is, so you have my sympathies, and 13 days is a fantastic milestone. Keep going and remember..............not one more puff...............EVER.
