I've joined a running group ha ha!!

Today I joined a running group because I thought it would be good for lung rehabilitation. I was in the slowest group (beginners) and I had to walk most of the 5k and I was at the back of the group the whole time. But I felt so good when we got back and had completed the course. My lungs still won't expand fully and I could only run about 150 yards at a time but I am heading to where I want to be! And that is a smoke free healthy person who looks after themselves. The thought of leaving my two beautiful daughters alone fills me with horror and even though they are adults I think a girl always needs her mum around! And I have now given up the patches too and I'm no longer waking up in the night buzzing with anxiety like I did in the early days. I just have the lozenges now when I get the nicotine craving. Onwards and upwards hey! :-)

Well done wendywoo on your running and your quit. I couldn't run but I do walk as much as i can. Keep it up and you will soon be an advanced runner take care.

Good for you Wendywoo! You will be surprised how much stamina you develop over time so long as you don't overdo things. Try to maintain an individual pace that allows you to go a little further each time without a break & only walk until your breathing comfortably then go again. Don't increase your overall distance by more than 10% at a time. I STRONGLY believe you couldn't find a better way to redevelop your lung capacity. It isn't a bad idea to check with your doctor & possibly monitor your blood pressure whilst ever you're using an NRT.

Way to go Leslexi🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ I'm walking and doing light weights still but always did even when I smoked.. just feels good to exercise 😊👍🏻

Way to go Wendy for joining a running group🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ Just love your determination😊👍🏻✨

Well done Wendy but take it easy with the running nice and slowly does it. I injured myself in the early stages trying to do too much too soon. You will get there you're doing fab 10wks now👍 😄
