Hooray another day of success. 8 days and still going strong.  Had a few mild cravings but nothing a few minutes didnt cure. Im using the patch and it is much easier than i thought it would be.  Im determined  and my mind is made up. Any one have any feed back on the step down on the patch?

Hi ya Sandra, 8 days quit now then, thats just flippin ACE gal and am loving it :) your doing ever soo well and I hope your very proud of yourself :) :)

I've used the patches a while ago now, your supposed to use step 1 patch for 4 weeks, step 2 patch for 4 weeks, etc, but if I remember right, I used step 1 patch for 6 weeks !!!!! then stepped down to patch 2 :)  If you feel confident enough, you step down at 4 weeks or less if you like :)  It does hurt for a couple of days until your body gets used to having less nicotine :)

When our lovely DroopyJ  get out a flippin bed, she might have a word with you, cos she used patches and used the full course I think :)

Stay strong now Sandra, cos am just loving your quit :) :)

Pete :)

Hi Sandra well done on managing what is often the worst period for most giving up the fag menace. I am on patches and stepped down to 14mg 2 weeks ago. It went really well for me was surprised as I had been on 21mg for 3 weeks. Try the step down and see what happens. The patches take the edge off the craving but remember it is as you say your determination, strong willpower and super positive attitude that is making your quit successful - you can't buy that at the chemists. So BRAVO to you - hope it all goes well JC

Hi Sandra well done 😊

That is how I found this site, I was searching for answers to how I would deal with coming off the patch altogether 😊

I started on the second stage as I smoked low tar and about 10 a day so the 1st was too strong for me.

When I was nearing the end of the 4 weeks, I told myself that I was just going to be "smoking" a reduced tar cig.... And that I would hardly notice the difference in my patch. That seemed to work for me.

Then once I was on the last stage, I found that I kept forgetting to put the patch on. I tried to see how long I could go without but always carried one with me, that way I wasn't too stressed about it😊 It worked for me😊👍

Hope that helps👍 It sounds as though you are in the right head space 😊🚭🚭🚭🚭🚭🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
