Is anyone awake?

Hi all, I cannot for the life of me get to sleep :(

I am usually a really good sleeper, and I think this may have something to do with the no smoking, although I can't say I am awake because I want a cigarette necessarily, it's just I'm AWAKE!

Has anyone else experienced sleepless nights? I have to be up in 3 and a half hours and face a whole day at work :(

On a positive note I am down 7 days, one whole week not smoking :) awesome!

Jess

Hi Jess,

Well done on getting through your first week πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Sadly, irregular sleep patterns is very common when first quitting. Do have a read of the pinned posts to the right of the page as there is a wealth of information on the common symptoms of your body recovering from smoking.

None of these symptoms last for too long...hang in there as it does get better πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜Š

Similar stuff this end Jess, I can forget I'm withdrawing until I get on here. Always delayed with me, didn't get these symptoms initially but similarly cry in the evening, sleeping on sofa and woke crying this morning. My friends were talking of the Full Moon which was all about letting go! :O)

My reality is that I'm not using as many NRT gums so the withdrawal has shifted onto a different level & it's intense. Was good to see your post, thanks. Always good to bob on hear and bolster the willingness..Together we can! :O)

Ahhh iris bless you! I didnt sleep again last night either really, so i am a definite zombie today. Just got to know that it is all for the good of our health. Not One Puff, Ever :)

I have the NRT gum but i probably only use 3-4 pieces a day. I have also forgotten to put a patch on the past 2 days so i think that may have something to do with it!

Keep your chin up iris, i believe in you :) xxxxxx

Thanks Jess, appreciate that! On a similar amount of gum as you till last 2 days, body wanted less and a whole other withdrawal kicked in! Here's to breathing deep and knowing,'this too shall pass'. Me chin's up! :O) Best to you

Well done on a week free from fags. Yes sleep problems are an issue in the beginning but you will get past them and you will forget about them. All these withdrawals are a sign that your mind & body are healing. Stick it out, it's worth it !!

Hi Jess--yes I went thru that--It is part of withdrawal for some of us--I did that and also slept 15 hours off and on at a time--You will sleep when you get tired enough--Nicotine is a stimulant and maybe it is the last hurrah and you are getting whats left all at once--I don't really know--I just kno I and others have done it to--It will pass--That was one of my shorter symptoms--Keep me posted--xxx MmeT
