I was just reading some of the newest members posts, and realized I may actually be able to contribute something useful for their success in quitting!!
Ok, so in the beginning of my quit, I'd cough a lot...that's normal, as our lungs are clearing themselves out... So I would suck on cough drops... A lot!!! It numbs the throat and gave me something to do. I'm realizing that even after 12 weeks, I still suck on cough drops. The menthol eucalyptus helps take away the craving for nicotine that I may still have? I quit cold turkey and I refuse to give up my victory, so I'm positive I'll never smoke again.
But seriously, cough drops are magic!! And they help your throat and breathing at the same time!!! Yay!

Thankyou soooo much for your post, cos I'm sure it will help some of our members Hmmm, I may have to put the ''cough drops'' onto my ''Which NRT'' post eh

Hi Heather I can't believe you're 12 weeks too that's about the same as me. Might try cough drops if they are as magic as you say?... ha. Tried swapping nicotine gum for spearmint and there is something about the blast of mint it gives you it helps but gone back to nicotine for a while.
You're doing awesome with your positive attitude ......... My attitude needs adjusting from time to time..... Mr Nic follows me around a lot !!

Congrats, and thanks for the tip! I quit 44 days ago!! I also found it helpful to suck on something, and have really got into tootsie roll pops when I get a bad craving but I hope they go away soon!
