Amanda Hinds: Hi I'm trying to get this app on... - Quit Support
Amanda Hinds
Hi, I don't think there is an app for HealthUnlocked yet, if there was I would definitely have it!
πππ
OK thank Andrew, which week was the hardest for you so far ? βΊ
The first week because it's so new and different and final and scary. You thinking well iv done it for so long why not have another day of smoked happiness and start tomorrow? Also when it's been a couple of days it's easier to think I could just have a couple and start again. Also it's the biggest shock to your system and biggest sudden reduction in getting nicotine.
And probably this week, no one seems bothered any more you don't get as much praise (sad but true) and it seems like you have not smoked for ever but there is still forever to go like ur right in the middle of it. There's too much to lose by going back but still a long road ahead.
Week 2 and 3 I found quite easy. Maybe it's just part of the adjustment period.
How are you finding it?

Sending you lots of praise as well Andrew ππππ

Andrew - you stay on here buddy! The praise is the weekly badges! ha - It's the little things.
Funny thing for me today, I'm checking in b/c I have just gotten over a bad cold and feel like I have smokers cough NOW.
I am on my 10th week quit now - (WOW!!!) and do not recall having this cough.
And Amanda - you stay up to date on here too. Everyone cares about your quit. My worst week I think was around week 3 I think. That was when I was having the worst sleeplessness - but it has passed.
You can ask/vent/post anything on here and find some help, answers and encouragement.
Good luck to BOTH of y'all. Together we are all doing this!
Actually, I joined this site in August and fell back in the smoking game, lost my badge, by my own doing. So I do get excited to keep check on how far I've come. And I do tell my local pals from time to time how far I've come in my quit. STAY proud of yourselves! It's all good!

Hi Amanda and welcomeπ
I don't think the app is up and running yet but good luck with your quitπ πΌ
Hi Amanda and welcome to Quit Support! This community has really helped me to stay smoke free -- especially in the more difficult early days / weeks. Look around and check out the pinned posts. Lot's of good info and good suggestions there.
I think you'll find that there are a great variety of withdrawal symptoms -- and not everyone experiences all of them. --OR-- We may experience some at different times and at different intensities or duration's than others.
An expression that I like is: "First it gets different and then it gets better". No doubt the first week or two (or XXX?) is 'different' --or difficult. It also depends on whether you are going cold turkey, or using NRT (patches, etc.), or perhaps Champix. I found that getting advice from my GP helped, too.
So hang in there and let us know how you are doing!
Hi Will..... I like your saying " First it gets different.... Then it gets better" That's how I felt in the first 2 months of quitting cigarettes.... I remember reading your post before with the saying but now I'm going to use it pertaining to my thyroid meds..... It's definitely different....(emotionally and physically)...... And for Linda and me.......Then It Gets Better...... Thanks god that Will xxx
