Cold turkey this time. Tried the patch but It gave me terrible migraines and I just smoked more. I also tried the ecig but that hurt my throat really bad. I just want the nicotine out of my system ASAP

Cold turkey can be a bit of a rough ride at the start, but, honestly it is manageable. ( That is how i quit) :) :) Keep reminding yourself that you can do this :) In the early days, I constantly played mind games with myself and tried to make a bit of a game..When i got cravings etc, I just kept telling myself..ya not gonna get me back smoking :) :) and when that craving passed, i would congratulate myself for winning that battle....Over time. I just kept on getting better at winning the battles :) :)

Almost 16 months later, I still get the occasional urge and again, i just laugh it off and think..wow..still trying to get me back smoking :D :D and i keep on winning :) :)

A bit lame, but it works for me and I hope it can help you :)

Welcome Kimmielou! Reading the pinned posts and keeping in touch with fellow "quitters" has really helped me to stop smoking and stay stopped -- one day at a time.

Believe me .. I've tried before, too. You've come to the right place!

It can be tough in the beginning .. so let us know how you're doing.

All the Best! -Will

Welcome Kimmielou🌷

Congratulations....... Making a decision to stop smoking is a huge decision. I quit out of fear......... Afraid of being disabled by cigarettes....... Strokes run in our family among women who smoke and my grandmother had a leg amputation due to smoking and loss of circulation.............

Some people like to write down why they need or want to quit smoking and keep it on them so when they have a craving, they read it and the mantra everyone uses on this site is. NOPE NOT ONE PUFF EVER

I use that along with 1 hour at a time because I use to light up every hour. I say "this hour I will not light up". It gets me through

You'll have triggers to light up but you'll learn a new lifestyle. The people on this site are awesome. They'll help you keep your motivation going

You can do it!!!!!
