Hello to all members,

Its my second day cold turkey and I'm really struggling. Being at work and seeing colleagues smoke is very tempting. I also feel very angry and anxious. Is there any recommendations to take my mind off things? I'm chewing gum like crazy!!

Regards,

Chi

Hiya Chi and a big warm welcome to quit support 😊

Congratulations on your cold turkey quit, these first few days are difficult, so feeling angry and anxious is unfortunately very normal at this stage😩

These feelings will pass and chewing gum is a great idea👍🏼

There are some great breathing techniques on the right to help a craving pass, under pinned posts which can be very helpful. When you see your colleagues smoking, remember they are inhaling 4000 plus chemicals and that you're not..........doesn't sound so tempting now😱 You are doing the very best thing for your future health, so well done. Drink lots of water and that will flush all those nasty toxins out of you. Excercise is another great way to take your mind of things. Our motto is NOPE not one puff ever, hang in there😊x

Hi ya Chi, its lovely to meet you and a big warm welcome to our quit support forum :)

Chi, I take my hat off to you pal, going it cold turkey :) and I see our lovely Briarwood has given you some great advice :) :)

Chi, It is very tough for the first few days :o but if you really WANT to be smokefree, then you WILL get through it :) ermmm, maybe write a list down of the WHY'S you want to quit and when you get them urges, get it out and read it :) try to get it drummed into your head :)

As for your work colleagues who smoke, just feel sorry for them, cos they cant do what your doing and thats BEAT mr flippin nic :) If you havnt already done so, then please let them know that you have quit :) then they perhaps wont smoke infront of you eh :)

Chi, your doing ever soooo well pal :) :) you just stay strong and above all, FOCUSED on your quit :) REMEMBER why your doing it :) :)

Good luck Chi and you just remember, we are only a few clicks away :) soooo, if you want a rant and rave, a chat, have a question, then you just fire away :)

Pete :)

The guy that hypnotised me gave me a sheet with emotional tapping routine for times when the urge kicks in.

it's meant to work on accupressure points but I'm not sure I believe in accupressure....but, it does provide a distraction for about 90 seconds and I've found that the craving doesn't last as long as I think it does.

here is one site

thetappingsolution.com/what...

it just might work for you and apart from maybe looking silly doing it in public, it costs nothing :)

Hiya housewife, just had a look at the tapping and found myself tapping along in the video while watching it, amazing😊

Anything that helps is great and thanks for sharing this, definitely worth a try👍🏼 enjoy your smoke free day and NOPE😊x
