Question about vaping ...?

I see that a number of folks find vaping to be of help while quitting smoking. I'm glad to hear it.

I tried vaping a year ago and pretty much just didn't care for it -- so I did not consider it this time around. My question is: Has anyone gotten any benefit in their efforts to quit smoking -- by using non-nicotine vapes? I am currently taking varenicline and nicotine in any form is not an option at this point. 'Just wondered if anyone has gotten any benefit from non-nic vapes. ??? Thanks.

I have tried using non nicotine juice. It works if you're addicted to the feeling of smoke (or vapor)in your lungs. That was the main reason why I smoked cigarettes in the first place. With vaping, you get the same feeling without nicotine. You should try it.

Hi ya Willc2220, we are all different :o our bodies are all different :o so we try to find out what works for ourselves :) :)

We all have our own way of quitting :) whether it be cold turkey, vaping, or some form of NRT :)

As for your question, I myself have never tried vaping non-nicotine :o so not really sure about that :o But saying that, I have cut my nic dose down from 18mg to 12mg :) :) and I live with 2 smokers, who smoke in the house :o

Will, I think most of us with e-cigs, use them cos it's something to do with our hands :o its the habit bit of smoking :o

Will, you just flippin remember NOPE pal, Not One Puff Ever :) :)

Pete :)

My post here will be on the PRO Vaping side for many reasons:

I am a 50 plus years smoker, ever since Vietnam. I did quit for 1.5 years after heart surgery, however used Snus as a NRT. Went back to smoking. Always smoked a 12 mg light cig. Never really had a smokers cough, but had sinusitis and other issues, shortness of breath, taste, ie, the ususal. I decided to try Vaping as a last resort. I am now 30 plus days and working my Nicotine level down to zero. I am now down to a .3mg nic level and zero is next. I feel very optimistic about leaving nicotine forever. On the pro side of vaping there many things I find favorable. 1. the ingredients use to make the vapor is Vegetable Glycerin, Propolyene gylcol, flavorings, and whatever Nicotine level you wish to use. The first three items are all FDA approved and used in many food, medicines, and inhalation treatments. None of these are listed as a Carcinogen. 2. There are no Ashes or Cig butts to deal with. 3. Since it is a vapor, I can now use it in my house and Auto with out the cig smell. it is a vapor and dissipates quickly. 4. Breathe better. 5 Taster is back. 6 no foul breath 7 Replaces the action of using a cig and is satisfying as well. I do love the many flavors available to use which makes it very pleasant and will most likely continue to enjoy this after being Nicotine free. My suggestion for anyone who wishes to use this as an NRT (nicotine replacment therapy) is to find a Vape shop in your area and tell them you want a starter kit and your intention is to quit allowing Nicotine to use you. BTW, you will find most People who understand and use Vaping as a NRT are very Anti Cigarette. I would not usually take the time to write something like this, however, I think it is worth the effort to quit smoking and using Nicotine.. Wishing you the best in Quitting.

Good morning Roger. Day 17 for me. I went cold turkey for 14 days and I just had too much physical withdrawal. Lethargy, back and chest pain, headaches, dizziness, insomnia. Anyway.... I now use a piece of nicotine gum. I make it last. I stick it on surfaces all over the house or in my car hahaha. ABC gum. I know but it works. Keep up the good work👏

Hey Will. Arizona here. I think I need a bit of nicotine in a day through gum. Not tried vaping. The gum lasts me. Does the trick for me oh ya just remembered..... Took a drag off a friends vape and nearly choked to death hahaha. I guess I went a little heavy on the drag!! But it did have nicotine in it and you mentioned you can't do nicotine right now. Hmmmmm
