Shall we have a questionnaire?

Does anyone think it would be a good idea to have a questionnaire about side effects of quitting? It might help new quitters to know they are not alone. The one thing I found surprising is that GPs don't really have much knowledge about it. What do you think? If people agree we could ask our lovely administrators to organise it.

Hi glolin. Thanks for the support. People worry a lot about symptoms that they just were not expecting. I know I did and something that showed how many people suffer different kinds of effects might help some of these worries. There should be a proper study I think.

I was the same, all i expected was to get cravings...Looking back, in some respects that was the easiest part for me to overcome. Like yourself, i too quit cold turkey and like shanti, i was so grateful for this site as i had no idea of the side effects or as i like to call it symptoms of recovery :) :)

It would be interesting to back through the history of this site and list all the different physiological, psychological and physical impacts that quitting has had

Great idea, I was amazed that some of the things I went through were to do with quitting, and it was reassuring to find this place and realise I wasn't alone 😊

Thanks shanti. I don't know how to do it....I think it has to be an administrator.

it has to be set up as a poll, so we need a question and up to 8 answers (Like the one that is there for what country we are from) and if we then add our own experiences

We could set it up where we just ask did you experience???? and list 8 of the common ones to start off with and then the rest added... I am open to any suggestions :)

Well, this is my list excluding cravings:

Bleeding gums

Constipation

Wind

Dizziness

Depression

Closed up throat

Low blood pressure

I'm sure others had other types....leave it to you for the definitive list Linda😊

Thanks Rozi :)

for me the main ones were

difficulty sleeping

anxiety

lack of concentration

acidic stomach

fatigue

I will have a wee play and see what i can come up with, just based on what i have seen people mention, there certainly is a lot of very common ones but for newly quit people most of these would be unknown :)

Great idea! I'm a newbie and it's always a little boost to know that I am not the only paranoid schizophrenic here!

Hi

This post was 9 months ago, however it kinda went a bit wrong at the time ☹️.  I think we all worried about the side effects cos nobody talks about it.....and, more importantly, they pass.  If there's an administrator out there that wants to have another go I would be interested in the results.  Those of us stopped for a while might be able to comment.
