Have to quit help me please

I'm 26 years old. I've been smoking two packs a day for 13years now. I have chronic migraines and tension headaches. Doc wants to try a few new things but can't if I'm a smoker. I desperately want/need to try these meds but I can't seem to quit. Anybody got any advice/suggestions/tips. Seriously I'll take anything you can tell me. Thanks for reading

Quitting is never easy but it's easier with a little support.💪

Firstly decide how you want to quit. Are you going to use nrt ( nicotine replacement therapy) or would you prefer cold turkey (without any aids).

I suggest that you read the pinned posts📌 you will find the posts to the right of your page.

Remember to drink lots of water💧💦 to flush out the toxins and keep yourself hydrated.

Remember to drink plenty of water to help flush the toxins from your system and to keep you hydrated.

We have members and admin staff sround the world, so most of the time there is always someone here if you want to rant, scream, laugh, tell a joke, ask a question?

Welcome to the community Rin,

First of all may I say your young enough to quit smoking and gain lots of benefits

from doing so.

Most of what you need to know is in the pinned posts, so please keep reffering back to them.

Set yourself a quit date. Decide if your using a nicotine replacement or going cold turkey. When the quit date comes Throw away anything that relates to smoking

ashtrays lighters cigarettes etc.

Get plenty of nibbles ready to keep your mouth busy instead of smoking.

Drink plenty of water and do some deep breathing exercises to help clear the lungs.

Change your routine , distraction is a good deterrant.

Take it one day at a time. You may slip up, but keep trying.

Keep this site close to you.

Please let us know when you have an exact quit date, then we can assign you an achievement badge.

I've been reading the pinned posts some are quite helpful. I've yet to set a quit date still looking into different methods. My biggest worry is that I live with chain smokers. How am I going to cope with that? Thanks for responding. Any tips you have or suggestions on what posts I should read would be greatly appreciated thank you

Hi Rin, my hubby smokes so I understand it’s harder to quit when surrounded by other smokers. It is possible though🚭✅

You have to be determined to quit. There were many times when I felt like lighting up but the desire to quit was stronger.

We are all here to help you. Chewing gum really helped. Also changing your routine around.

You can do this too while you’re still young, your health is the most important thing👍

Thank you for understanding. I'm really determined to quit. I have a lap sugury in a couple weeks and the doc says I really need to quit before it. Unfortunately due to dental work I can't chew gum. Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you for reading and responding to my post I greatly appreciate it.

Thank you so much for the links they were quite helpful. I got myself a juul and my brother gave me his vape now I just have to decide when to quit. I thinking within the next few days. But should I quit in the morning or afternoon or evening? Any idea on what works best. Thank you for reading and responding to my post. I don't know if I could even try this without to you guys. Your all being so welcoming and helpful. Thank God I found this site.

Hi Rin,I think it's entirely up to you what time of day you choose to quit.In the meantime I suggest you write a list of your reasons for quitting (on paper) and put it somewhere you often go. My list is still on the fridge from 14 months ago.I also have Snoopy ,lying on a cloud saying NOPE (Not One Puff Ever) as a screen saver on my phone.

I also suggest that you start thinking about a "No-Smoking " zone where you live. Somewhere quiet where you can get away from the chain smokers.

Be prepared to change your routines around a little.

With a little organization you can do this.

Keep this site close,even if it's just for a shoulder to lean on.There's always someone here.

Good luck Rin, I would suggest that you try not to overthink things. Make a plan that you are comfortable with and remember to take baby steps, one minute, one hour, one morning, one afternoon at a time.
