I decided, while smoking, that it was my last one, Monday morning! Curently Thursday and I feel so great !! Breathing is much easier, I'm hungry all the time! And I can't stand the smell of it at all!! Getting some cravings , but for some reason, I'm passing them easy! I guess deep down you know when it's the right moment to stop!!!

Hello nat and a very warm welcome to quit support.

Congratulations on making the decision to quit smoking as it truly is the best thing you can do for you own health and your pocket :) :)

Are you using any NRT or doing it cold turkey?

If you take a look on the right hand side of the screen under the topic heading, there is a wealth if information about what the common symptoms are of your body healing from nicotine and the other 4000 nasty chemicals in cigarettes. :O :O

We have a wee mantra that we use around here - NOPE - Not One Puff Ever

it tends to help us all with the cravings :) :)

All the very best of luck on your quit journey and if you need any support or just want to vent or chat etc, you are very welcome to join us

Hi Linda, I went cold turkey!! I don't have any excuses to give this time, like the patch is making me dizzy, having bad dreams with champix, laser wasn't for me!! After spending so much money on trying to stop and notice that even excuse was good to start smoking, well I fouled myself this time!! Cold turkey!!! And for once I'm proving to my self that I don't need to be dependent on anything anymore to stop my dependency on nicotine!

good for you :) :) . i quit cold turkey too . I had never actually tried to quit previously as i did not believe i could do it. I think when its the right time, you will be successful - irrespective of if its your first time of quitting or if you have had a few practice runs :) :) . If you have your head in the right place and accept any cravings as a positive healing process, you will do well :) :)

I tried many times b4 to stop, but I don't think that I was genuine about it, I just keept on finding excuses to smoke again! This is the first time in my life , cold turkey, and I convinced my self to stop and never again smoke!! Ever !! I feel great about it!!

Hi Nat😃

Definitely remember feeling hungry all the time 😃😃 still do in fact 😂😂, try have a drink of water instead of eating to help the weight stay off and flush out all the toxins from those nasty cigarettes.

I hate the smell of stale smoke and can't believe I smelt like that 😳

You're doing great 😀 keep up with the positive attitude and soon you'll lose count how many days since your last smoke 😃😃

Xx

Hi Nat, Yes it's true you do know when the time is right to quit, it's all about being determined in your mind, and keeping that determination going.

Pluss we don't smell like an old ashtray anymore, :-D :-D

Good Luck, keep in touch. :-)
