Melbourne's Weather

To describe Melbourne's weather is difficult - by the time you do, it has changed! Today is the first day of the Cricket World Cup at the MCG and it is raining and humid at 8.00am. Who knows what it might be at 2.00pm? Good luck England!! (Ha ha ha ha)

Happy Valentines Day to those who celebrate :>

Still no smoking - GO me!!! :)

Hiya Ngaire, yes you definitely go girl...............great quit, well done you :)

Just wondering do you like cricket ? Anyway talking of valentines day I have a little tip for you. Here's a very simple test to find out who loves you most, your partner or your dog. Lock them both in the boot of the car for 2 hours and when you open it, note who's most pleased to see you :D :D x

Hi again Monky, funny old weather everywhere now it seems. Melbourne can vary 20 degrees in less than an hour - 39# at 1.00pm - enter cool change and 19# at 1.40pm. Crazy stuff, BUT not boring.

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oy, Oy, Oy!!!

what i find weird to Ngaire is that I am only 2 hrs away yet like this week where you guys have been mid to high 20s we have been mid to high 30s

I am looking forward to the cricket, all will be well as long as New Zealand and Aussie dont play . I love the one day matches but Rugby union is by favorite game. still struggle with the Aussie rules footy.

Yes, really wierd - there is a line across the map that the heat won't cross some days ha ha. I have a kiwi son in law, so tried to learn something about rugby - apart from a TRY I failed hehehe 😃😃😃

I always says on a good day it is four seasons in one day or its four seasons in an hour :D. Yet on saying that, i love coming down to Melbourne for the weekend. My daughter and grand daughter are on the train to Melbourne today. They are coming down for the 1 Direction concert on their tonight. It will be nice for them to have a mother and daughter weekend together.

Hi Linda, Melbourne is famous for its weather 😀 I hope they enjoy the concert.

I have heavy bronchitis so will watch cricket on TV - bloody cigarettes!! T.G I have learned a painful lesson 😝

That is not good having bronchitis :( but yes, I think none of us would have ever started if we knew just how much damage it was doing to us..We can't change the past on a positive note, our bodies are not getting any more damage done.

I bloke that works with my hubby quit around the same time as me as he was going in for back surgery, Hubby and I are good friends with him and his wife. He would ring me when he was struggling as i understood what he was going through ( his wife has never smoked)

Hubby came home from work Thursday and told me he started again a week ago, he blamed a tickle in his throat to quitting and his logic was if he smoked again it would go. I am saddend really that he has done this, yet know it is his own decision, I tried to get him on here for support and just to learn more about the effects ...I hope he comes to his senses :)

Yes, smoking masks a lot of health issues, and for a long time too! I believe that is why so many get sick so soon after quitting. The FIRST time I quit 2 years ago, I got pneumonia. I was told I had COA/PD and emphysema and it still took 2 years to completely stop. I will have to pay the price of "being an ostrich" for so long. My hubby quit with me 2 years ago but blamed hay fever for smoking again after 2 weeks!

i guess i am still concerned about myself, knowing what i know now, there is no way i can escape damage after smoking the way i did. I wonder what winter brings me.. I generally only get a cold once every 4 or 5 years but when i do it generally goes to my chest. I have had pneumonia a couple of times about 20 years ago and the second bout i ended up with pleurisy.

My theory is as the gunk starts clearing out i will be in a bit of strife but am ready for that

Hey there :-)

Lovely to see you Aussies and Kiwi's chatting away :-) I hope you are both having a nice start to your Happy Valentines Day :-)

We have crazy weather here, I have a friend who lives about 40 minutes away and she says that she had some snowflakes on Wednesday! Although it lasted less than 2 minutes :o

NgaireM, COPD / COAD is a terrible disease but as a smoker the best thing you can do to stop it from progressing is to stop, I'm glad for you that you have :-)

Lin, you are so supportive, I hope that your hubby's friends listens to you and makes that positive decision. I think the seed has been planted now, for sure :-)

Hey Pete, you not away to bed yet Mister? :o :o
