Hiya emze and welcome to quit support :)

Congratulations on 6 days quit and yes the cravings can be very intense sometimes but it will get easier and the more times you fight those urges, the stronger you become :)

Well done and hang in there as it will all be worth it :) x

Hi Emzyladee,

I reckon you have two choices. You can grieve over no longer being able to have a cigarette, or you can celebrate being free from them. Neither choice will change the circumstances but one will give you a miserable reality the other a triumphant reality. Provided you never smoke again, either choice will work, but you don't need to make the journey to quitting any harder than it actually is.

Hi Emzy and welcome to quit support;

The first few weeks are the worst and each time you resist the urge over Mr Nic, you grow stronger :) :)

Many members have read Allan Carr's book "easy way to quit smoking" it is not the best written book, however it does give you some good insight to smoking habits.

On the right had side of the page here, under the topic headings you will find a wealth of information to help you along your way,

The great thing about this site is that we are all on our own journey understand the emotions associated with quitting :) :) so if you have any questions etc, just ask away.

All the very best on your quit journey and stay strong.

You are doing a fantastic job so far and it doesn't take long for days to become weeks :) :)

Hi there Emzy :-)

You've had great advice already so not much I can add :-) do try and read Allen Carr it really helped me and might do the same for you.

Like most of us on here I started smoking at a young age and I never thought I could quit:-( I thought it would be too difficult and the cravings too strong to deal with but I've managed :-) and the support on here is great, keep in touch and good luck with your quit. Nearly a week quit how great is that :-) :-)

Xx

Hi ya Emzy and a lovely big warm welcome to this quit support site :) and you've come to the best place for support on your quit journey, as you have already found out, with the responses from some of our lovely members on here :) :)

A BIG Wayyyyy Hayyyyy to you Emzy for gritting your teeth and reaching your 6th day smoke free :) The first couple of weeks are the hardest, but the more you say NO to mr nic, the easier it gets for you :) Try to keep your mind occupied and busy, drink plenty of water, cos this does help to calm the cravings down a bit and also helps your body to clean itself out :) Try to exercise a bit, go for a brisk walk, this also helps :)

Yes Emzy, your doing just great gal and you hold your head up high and feel proud of yourself :) cos we all know how hard it is to quit :o

Emzy, if you could please let Jillygirl or myself know your quit date, then we can add you to the wall of winners and I will personally nip over them there fields and catch you a Winners badge :)

Please stick with us and any questions you may have, just ask and we will try to put you right :)

Pete :)
