Hi hassaan Well done for bring 4 days smoke free that is really great :) Yes it is normal to have cravings for a cigarette but the cravings will go in time. Are you using any NRT to help you with your cravings if not go to your GP and there can give you NRT. I am using the E cig that is helping me lots. And it is normal to have soreness in your gums as well. You are doing really well and keep up the good work you are doing :D x

No i am not using anything. I smoked for 10. I was 20 years old when i started smoking so i always thought it would be very difficult for me to quit. But thankfully it is not as difficult as i thought it would be

Hi Hassaan and a big warm welcome to this lovely quit smoking support forum :)

A big well done to you for reaching your forth day quit :) erm, yes the first couple of days are pretty easy, then that Mr nic starts :o As our lovely Holly has said, your symptoms are normal for your quit time, so am afraid, you will just have to get stuck in and grit your teeth to get through the cravings, but each time you get through a craving, the next one will get easier to combat :) just stand your ground and fight it :)

As for your sore gums, this is pretty normal too I'm afraid, cos if you think about it, you have been smoking through your gums all the time you have been smoking :o Everybody is different Hassaan, so it takes our bodies different times to heal :o but your gums will heal, maybe try to eat soft food for a few days to help them :) and try to drink plenty of water, this will help your body clean itself out :)

If you look to your right, you will see the TOPICS, have a look through some of them, they may just help you too :)

If you dont mind me asking, are you using any form of NRT to help you with your quit ? or are you going cold turkey ?

Hassaan, you are doing just fine, so please keep intouch :)

Pete :)

Hiya Hassaan and welcome to quit support :)

Congratulations on your 4 days quit and just to let you know that I suffered with my gums when I first quit, so nothing to worry about, all quite normal although painful :)

It will clear up given a bit of time, I used corsydl mouthwash and also tried salt water :)

Cravings are hard to get through but it can be done :)

You are doing the best possible thing for your health, well done :) x

Hi Hassaan, welcome to quit support.

Congratulations on getting through your first 4 days of many as a non smoker :) :) You are doing the best thing you could ever do for your future health and wellbeing. There is a wealth of information under the topics heading on the right hand side of the screen that will provide you with some insight on what some of the common experiences have been for others on their quit journey, The GREAT thing is, they are all very short term :) :)

All the very best on your quit journey and we are all here to help you along the way should you need a little support or just to vent :) :)

Hi Hasaan, so you're 1 Week quit now then :) a big Whooooooopy flippin Dhooooooopy :) :)

You are doing so so well Hasaan and as you can see, you now have a shiny 1 Weeks Winners badge by your name :) :)

I'm not sure whether your living in England or not, but your English is very good :) better than mine and I've lived here for 58 flippin Years :D :D

There have been quite a few members on here who have said that their tongues have gone back to a nice pink colour after a few weeks quit :) so I suspect your lips will return to the colour they should be after a while :) but please just give it time, because our bodies are all different, so it takes some of us longer to reap the benefits of quitting :) Plus your teeth will get a lot whiter too :)

Hassan, your doing ever so well and you should be really proud of your achievements :)

Try to drink plenty of water too, as this will help your body to clean itself of all those toxins that come with smoking :) plus exercise will help to clear your lungs out too :)

Stay focused and positive now and you WILL do it :)

Pete :)

monky profile image
monkyAdministratorCake eater in reply to hassaan

Hi ya Hassaan :)

Erm, I havnt heard of any other members having ear pain whilst quitting :o but, I do know your ears, nose and throat are all combined, so if you have a bit of a throat infection, then this could course your ear pain, but if you are in any doubt, please nip and see your doctor just to be on the safe side :)

May I ask you where your from :o It dosnt matter if you dont want me to know, we will still help you if we can :) :)

Take care Hassaan :)
