DAY ONE
Hi Vitemen, congratulations on stopping smoking and it sounds like you have a lovely incentive for doing this with your baby grandchild due very soon!
It's a really good decision to make and the stop smoking group will give you the support to help you through it just like the people on here so good luck.
Hey how about doing some baby knitting to help take your mind off smoking?
Best wishes

Hi Vitemen, Welcome aboard. I thought I recognised your name from before. Dont forget Boots inhalators and cartridges are usually cheaper than the Nicorette and just the same. They sometimes have a deal on the cartridges.
Good luck.
Hi Vitemen, you say you "only lasted 3 months last time" ... I think that's quite an achievement and the fact that you are willing to put yourself through it again, is testament to your character - So I do feel you have a great chance of cracking it this time! We all need an incentive (mine is quite sadly a near-blocked artery in my leg!) and with your grandson due; that's a massive incentive alone.
Try speaking with your GP also and ask about "Champix" (No, I'm not on commission here!) - I'm on it now and no ill-effects and did actually take the 'perceived' enjoyment out of smoking - I've now been smoke-free for 4 days (Not long I know, but it bloomin' feels like months!). Had some very tough times but putting more focus into my business and family to help take my mind off it.
All the very best!
Hi John
It's lovely to see you again, I've been wondering how you were doing and it sounds like you are doing really well - fantastic!
I have realised, in my short non smoking experience, that stopping smoking gives you tunnels to go through - I prefer to call them tunnels because I like to see the light at the end of them! But there is no tunnel worse than any health problem caused by smoking! I finally stopped not because I had a specific health problem, but because I could feel that smoking was affecting my health in a way that I had never noticed before, it kind of scared me!
So no matter how bad it feels, it really is worth going through it if only to see the light at the end, that really keeps me motivated and positive during the tough days!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend
Best wishes
