Hi all, Chris here from Liverpool, 1st day - but trying to think of it as my first day of healthier living and it can only get better - hopefully
Hi all: Hi all, Chris here from Liverpool, 1st... - Quit Support
Hi all
Hi Chris, welcome to quit support. Congratulations on making the best decision of your life. Health wealth and hopefully happiness. At least you have a positive attitude which is a good start. Eye or Emjay should be contacting you soon . They are our advisors. Meanwhile explore the site for hints and tips. If you go on the daily chat you will see we are always supporting each other, plus you can shout scream or have a good laugh. One of us will listen.
Have a lovely day, you non-smoker.
Hi Chris,
welcome to our friendly community. All good advice from jillygirl. Are you attending a FagEnds group or just using the forum?
let us know what prompted you to make the best decision ever and quit smoking. If you are using NRT or Champix and want any advice just ask away and we will do all we can to answer you.
No doubt as the day and evening rolls on our band of merry men and women will come and introduce themselves to you.
Eye
Thank you Jilly And thanks for cat compliments! She's a wee nipper at 8 weeks old! Oh Eye I am attending an appointment with FagEnds tomorrow - was using NRT in the form of an inhalator - but I am now unsure if swapping one habit to another is really the way to go - I am considering going cold turkey.. My main reasons are money, my own health and I don't want my cat to smell smoke on me or hold her with nicotine covered hands!
Hi Chris,
which group are you going to attend? I will mention to the advisor that you have been on here. The advisor will help you decide which way to go. Personally I think NRT used in combination is a really good way, its not swapping one addiction fro another because we work to take you off before you leave us. Although people do quit 'cold turkey' the evidence shows us that the best chance of getting to 12 months is by weaning yourself off with a regulated product.
Anyway, that's all for tomorrow. we will be delighted to see you tomorrow.
Eye
Oh...and also....brilliant news for your cat....she is gorgeous and will be healthier being smokefree.
Thanks Eye - I have never smoked around her of course but when I walk back in stinking of smoke I think it's just as bad for her isn't it ? I will be attending a course at Green Lane health centre tomorrow at 14:30 - really looking forward to it
Hi Chris so glad for your cat. I had a dog years ago he was 13 yrs old but died of nasal cancer, that was when all the family smoked so poor thing didnt have a chance. I am posting a reminder for those of us that have pets.
Sorry to hear that Jilly I'm a dog lover myself, 13 years is a great age though for a dog - I'm sure he had a wonderful life but I think quitting for the sake of a pet's health is a great incentive. Especially in today's times - we are much more aware of our pets needs I think!
Hi Chris,
you will have the pleasure of meeting our lovely Hilary tomorrow....she knows you are coming so will look out for you. Good luck and let us know how you get on tomorrow.
Thanks a mil for your support, it's much appreciated and will do
