I meant to say I don’t know if this is because I answered No to the question can your husband wash, dress and feed himself. In 2022 when we took the policy out he was able to do this. I don’t see why this would prevent him being given an annual policy. Tried Allclear and they declined.

Hi, We gad an annual policy with Staysure who declined renewal because of Psp. Last year and this we took out a single trip policy for UK holiday and both Staysure and All Clear offered one, All Clear best and cheapest £162 for couple with other medical conditions included All Clear did say they would have covered for foreign travel. The question about washing, dressing and feeding was never asked, only asked about hospital admissions

I meant to additionally say I think the issue may be with annual policies

Hi

We had an annual Staysure policy last year taken out prior to his diagnosis. When my husband was given an official diagnosis of PSP I advised Staysure and they said they would not cover my husband for any medical cover whatsoever due to the fact PSP is a terminal illness.

I tried several other companies online but when it came to medical disclosures they required me to phone their underwriters and each company refused cover when I told them he had PSP.

that’s very strange. Whilst I cannot get an annual policy I have received quotes from Avanti travel, Freespirit, Good to Go Insurance and a couple of others for a single trip basis. I have not been told that PSP itself is a terminal illness so I answer No to the question “has anyone been diagnosed with a terminal illness”. I always disclose PSP on the medical conditions. Maybe this is why I am offered some cover.

Hi We've had same experience...no to annual trip cover but yes for single trip. Regarding the terminal definition All Sure said terminal is classified as less than 6 months to live and they to have psp on their list, asked how many hospital admissions and could he feed himself .

Sorry my mistake they didn't ask about feeding only breathing aids and hospital admissions
