Hi Joy73, my husband and I went on holiday with CBD. We didn't have a diagnosis at the time, so just ticked the boxes that related to symptoms. As long as his doctor says he is good to go, I don't see there is a major problem.

Your doctor may be more of a help.

Enjoy your holiday. Make memories!

Hugs

Great to hear you have travel plans. Whilst my husband could still travel we used StaySure who insure people with pre existing disease. Good to have a fitness to travel letter from your GP in case of any queries.

Also think about airport assistance

Have a good trip

Get a copy of the doctor's Dx and take it with you in case something were to happen that requires medical attention. The doctor's there won't have to try to figure out what's the overall medical condition.

Hello Joy. My wife has MSA rather than PSP but we found Fogg Insurance 01623 631331 very good for travel insurance. They don’t exclude illnesses like many insurance companies but just simply put an excess on for that particular condition if that causes a claim whilst away. Jackie for MSA has an additional charge of £25 and an excess of £200 if claim is MSA related.

Take care, Ian

Joy, I should have said the £25 additional was for an annual policy. Of course the insurance company take a view of what stage you are in the progression of the condition. Ian

Hi Joy I've got CBD and I'm mobile. We were told by the insurance company that as long as the consultant said I was fit to travel they were fine with that. Although I'm mobile I've just started using assistance at the airport. It's better because you don't have to queue anywhere.

We didn't book it at the time of the holiday my sister rang the airline and added it on. They just asked what condition I had.

Hope you have a good holiday.

Hi Joy

Like Tippy we used Stay Sure for travel insurance when we went on our Golden Wedding cruise two years ago. Chris has PSP and his symptoms were not so bad then. Funnily they paid more attention to my pre existing conditions than to the PSP. British Heart Foundation have a list of insurers who are willing to insure pre existing conditions.

Good luck and have a lively time.

Anne

Thanks Anne x

We are in turkey at the moment. my wife has CBD. like others have suggested we always use Staysure. obviously you must declare pre-existing conditions if you take out any insurance otherwise you'll not be covered. Have a great trip. Richard x

Hi Joy make sure you get airport assistance just tick the box the trouble is although your husband is mobile you will probably have to do more just let them help my husband was mobile but it was very hard for me without it

And the airport staff expect so much from people if they are standing up !

I asked him go get me a trolly while I grabbed the bags and he fell over trying to get it that was a few years ago now he needs a wheelchair anyway now bit it’s a great service and you don’t pay anymore and get to jump the que why not have some tlc xxx

Aww thanks good advice xxx
