Human touch is so very important- and although Momma cannot verbalize, she sure can hug tight! I told her last night, during this goodnight hug —- “Momma your hugs are so warm, and she just hugged me tighter ——and I asked if I could take a picture of our hug, and as normal as could be, she said, YES” — my goodness I love her so much.

Hi Bazooka111 I can really identify with what you are saying.My husband Bob has also lost speech but, never the most demonstrative of men, now waits at the bottom of the stairs in the morning to say his approximation of "good morning" followed by a determined hug - the same(different words) happens at night but now hugs occur throughout the day😊

I think as he's lost language & facial expression there's nothing more eloquent than a close body hug to express love & appreciation

Thank-you so much for your post - with so many increasing demands I need to be reminded of these special times & treasure them

Oh Jan —- your words have resonated in my soul. So much loss we have all observed in our beloveds —- I know she has so much she would like to say —- hugging has become a daily intention; I want her to feel my love beyond the words, and I just know she soaks it up each time. 🥰🥰

Expression is coached as you know … but the smile does come easy when she is reminded. Otherwise — she does have a resting non-emotional facial expression. I’m grateful that she still smiles and giggles 🥰
