If you need to - refuse to have him home until he has been assessed. The law requires a fully assessed care plan. Hospitals vary some are very good. No hospital can afford to have someone fit enough to be discharged blocking a bed. Sorry for the blunt language, but it is how they see, it. Unfortunately hospitals get so desperate to discharge they can pressurise the carer to have the person home. Demand a "Fast Track CHC Assessment" if they do. Fast track literally means that... it is instant and fast. However you need to make sure you are there and fully armed with all of his needs and the care he needs. Also the risks involved with falling, impulsive behaviour etc.
Thank you Kevin for that I have already said he's going nowhere till they get it sorted and he's not being transferred into a n/ h to be left there till they pull there finger out
The social worker has told them that he needs fast tracking cause he needs home with the full package he needs
I appreciate everything your saying and very much wecolme it .i must admit it's nice to get advice on all aspects of this nightmare that everybody goes through with this illness
