Chc review

Hi all, hoping you have had a peaceful christmas.

I've just had a call from chc to say my Dad is to have an assessment as he's coming up to the end of a 12 week period. He was fast tracked after his health took a dip and I was no longer able to care for him.

He still needs 24hr nursing but is no longer under end of life. Obviously he's not getting better but hasn't got any worse since being in the nursing home.

Is he likely to lose the funding?

Should I be there? (I am planning to be).

Any advice much appreciated.

Hello, my understanding is that if your dad has been fast tracked then any CHC funding should not be removed. My hubby was fast tracked in July and passed away this December. During that time I was told funding would remain although an assessment was carried out. I am sure your community nursing team would be of great help to you. Not sure what part of the country you are in but don’t be beaten down keep fighting for your dad. Love Jxx

Sorry should have said that PSP is a most complex and unpredictable illness and that should be emphasised and repeated continuously. Love Jxx

Yes of course Vron, I’m still trying to find it and hope to today, the hospice should be fast tracking john now! X
