When I have a moment

There is nothing like a 3 year old to lift my spirits.

Putting our youngest grandson to bed, I snuggled the duvet around him and said goodnight. "Nanna B, when I have a moment I am going to talk to Grandad."

"That's good, he'll like that".

"And when I have a moment, I want to talk to daddy".

"Yes, when you wake up in the morning".

"And when I have a moment, I will talk to you".

" I look forward to that. Goodnight".

"Nanna B, what's a moment ?"

Don't they just melt you in their innocence, can't wait to see our 2 and a half year old at Christmas. He will then have his new baby brother due in two weeks. Lovely to have some joyful moments in this not so joyful world we find ourselves in. Xx

They certainly do. Enjoy your grandson. Better not get mum too excited though....may end up with a Christmas baby and you as midwife. It's good to have something to look forward to and nothing better than a new baby.

Sweet! That made me smile! Sounds an adorable little guy.

He is but by the state of the house you would think there were 20 adorable little guys.

Maybe equivalent to the state caused by one adorable big guy? Bet your boy is easier on the furniture!

He is but he was a bit clumsy with my ukulele. He found it, crashed it against the banisters as he walked downstairs with it and then "played" and sang Twinkle twinkle little star. Fortunately it was my first uke. I've upgraded since then and he didn't find the new one.

Nanna, sounds like a good idea for a Christmas present-a mini ukulele for him. My son started quite early and collects string instruments. For sentimental value maybe put the first instrument out of reach of the little "Twinkle Twinkle" playing little guy:)

Always love your stories.

Good idea for a Christmas present. I will ask his parents first though as his foster brother would probably want one as well. Easy for me to get but may be a bit hard on their ears.

I know how you feel Nanna B and we have 2 grandchildren to stay!!!! But wouldn't have it any other way. Especially when I see them getting W involved in their play, he is the patient and they are the doctors πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

You may have two future doctors in the making, nor neurologists.

Our 3 get C involved but not doctors and patients. They give him "rides" in his chair and argue as to who is going to press the button.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll have a lovely little baby to kiss and cuddle, that's bound to make me feel better!

Hi Jean. Yes I did see the programme last week and last night. They do a lot of kissing, or talking about kissing don't they. I smiled when the little girl said babies are delivered to the hospital by a stork. When our nearly 9 year old was four, we were greeted by him at the front door. In his hands he had the life size model bones of part of a human skeleton. Our greeting went like this. " Hello Nanna B and Grandad. Do you know what this is? It's a ladies pelvis, not a real one though. I'll show you how it works". His mum then told him to let us in and he ran off and returned with a life like model of a baby. " When the baby is born it comes out head first like this". He then pushed the "baby" through the pelvis. His mum works for the National Childbirth Trust.

Thats so funny ! In general its the girls who focus on kissing. The boys are out of their depth. Little changes, really !!

If only I'd realised before.

Our grandsons are fascinated by the human body and skeleton but its the girls who are more into relationships.

Its fascinating seeing the children learning that they need to be aware of others feelings. And how early some children put others needs first.

Nanna B thanks for giving us a laugh. Isn't it wonderful a child's innocent remark. We had our 2 grandchildren to stay last weekend and this was their overheard conversation, Granddaughter to grandson

"who do you like the most, me, mummy or nanny - Answer Nanny.

"Who do you love the most, me, mummy or nanny - Answer Nanny.

Guess how Nanny felt 😊😊😊😊😊

Love to you xx

Oh that's so lovely, I bet it made your day! I remember Emma asking my granddaughter "Where would you like to live the most, my house, Nannas house or Daddy's house?" Her reply was "Nannas house or yours if she won't have me"

They bring so much joy don't they!....xx

Nanny857 profile image
Nanny857 in reply to Patriciapmr

They certainly do Patriciapmr. It's funny how just one little innocent remark can bring you out of the darkness of this terrible disease. Has the baby arrived?

Patriciapmr profile image
Patriciapmr in reply to Nanny857

No he hasn't arrived yet I think he wants to stay nice and warm, it's too cold outside! We have both been to see Emma today, she's really fed up with waiting now but if nothing's happened by tomorrow they are going to try something else.

I'm glad I took Keith he was desperate to see her, Daddies girl and all that!

Hopefully we will see our new little grandson in the next 24 hours, fingers crossed!

Love to you....Pat xx

Grandson had a cute little toy dog for Christmas which repeated what you said to it Grandad: "what are you going to call your little dog?"

answer: "irritating"

A jolly day to you all
