Those who've read my posts know the backstory of why she needs these surgeries. This was her 5th and went better than expected. When her surgeon was actually in the joint, its condition was better than he thought and necessary repairs were made.
However, when she was be extubated, she had an esophogeal spasm and aspirated a lot of fluid into both lungs. From what I understand, the spasm was severe enough they had to 'force' the breathing tube from the area of her treachea, causing both injury to the surrounding tissues/airways which resulted in much swelling, making it harder for her to breath.
Also during this 'spasm', she bit her tongue quite hard causing injuring to it as well, and it's quite swollen.
She's in the hospital tonight receiving various treatments. I believe in the power of prayer, no matter the denomination, and am asking for your prayers that she recovers from this without further complications and doesn't hinder her recovery from her hip surgery.
Thanks to all in advance and love to all.
Judy
