I don't have any favourite actors these days but I love old films and Laurence Olivier is my all time favourite.I used to go to the theatre a lot when I was able to ( I love Shakespeare particularly)and had a few favourite stage actors . A lot of the ones I saw at the Royal Shakespeare Company now crop up in the repeats of Midsummer Murders😊🐰

ah yes. i much prefer the old films, black and whites too, better stories, better scripts, better acting, nowadays it seems to be all special effcts and good looking youngsters who cant act. laurence olivier was one of my favourites, also james mason, rod steiger, and love ian mckellan. we love the theatre and hope to be able teo go regularly again soon.

Yes I like Ian Mc Kellen. I remember first seeing him back in the 70s when I was a student. My favourite b&w film is Brief Encounter. I also like Brighton Rock: such atmosphere. I didn't go to the theatre much pre covid as I find it hard to sit in the seats for any length of time- especially the old ones. So I have to choose the venue very carefully!

I love Judi Dench. I was fortunate enough to see her together with Anthony Hopkins at the National Theatre in a production of Anthony and Cleopatra. She played opposite another of my favourite actors, Ian Mckellen in a recording of Macbeth which is phenomenally well acted by both of them. Some of you know that I am a massive fan of the X-Files. I am a huge fan of David Duchovny and his acting in this series. I have met him several times, both in the UK and in America. Gillian Anderson, (also from the X-Files,) is a great actor too. I have met her once.

I love Judy Dench too. I thought she was brilliant in Chocolat.I've never seen her on stage. I've got the Macbeth on DVD.It's probably the best version I've seen- and I've seen some rubbish ones in my time😊

Great question wiserlady,

I’m a big Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant fan. I do like my French films so Jean Marc Barr and Audrey Tautao. More recent, Gary Oldman and Natalie Portman 😊

I love some of the TV actors who were able to last across many programs, such as David Jason and Dawn French. As for films anyone from The Magnificent Seven (original).

Jimmy Stewart was a very versatile actor once he was allow to show his range. From comedy to westerns.
